    • An energy saving deaerator device includes: a first incoming flow path that generally follows a central axis of the device from a conically shaped inlet having converging sidewalls, to an expansion chamber having diverging sidewalls, to a compression chamber having converging sidewalls, to an outlet, a first entry port of the compression chamber being defined by an outlet of the expansion chamber; a second incoming flow path having sidewalls that converge to form a ring shaped second entry port of the compression chamber, the ring shaped second entry port being disposed around and concentric with the first entry port; and, wherein the first and second incoming flow paths converge at the compression chamber, with both flow paths being directed toward the outlet, to form an outgoing flow path.

    • A method of manufacturing a building product material comprising recycled glass particles is disclosed, said method comprising the steps of: (a) mixing particulate recycled glass and sodium silicate binder to form a product material and forming a compact of the product material; (b) applying a reduced pressure to the product material obtained in step (a); and (c) hardening the binder by application of carbon dioxide to the compact. Also provided is apparatus for manufacturing a building product material comprising recycled glass particles and cured sodium silicate binder, said apparatus comprising: (a) one or more moulds configured to correspond to the shape of said building product; (b) a depressurisation device configured to reduce the pressure within said one or more moulds; and (c) a pressing device for compacting a mixture of glass particles and sodium silicate binder within the one or more moulds.
