The fiber includes 20-60 mass% acicular wollastonite and 1-10 mass% cellulose pulp based on the calcium silicate material. Thereby, the objective material having 5% or less of the heating residual shrinkage rate at 1,200 deg.C is obtained.

This production process comprises mixing slag, gypsum coarse grains, a stimulant, reinforcing fiber and an inorganic filler, in mix proportions specified below, preparing a slurry from the resulting mix, forming the slurry into a sheet by a wet papermaking method and curing and hardening the sheet, wherein the mass ratio of (slag):(gypsum coarse grains) is 95:5 to 5:95; the mass ratio of (slag):(stimulant) is 10:0.3 to 10:10; the mass ratio of the reinforcing fiber to the total solid content of the slurry, is 0.5-10 mass %; and the mass ratio of the inorganic filler to the total solid content of the slurry, is 0-30 mass %.
