摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scale component removing device for a water heater, which is compact in size and highly convenient and requires no maintenance.SOLUTION: In a water heater equipped with a heat exchanger, a scale component removing device for a water heater is disposed in a water passage to supply water to the heat exchanger. The device includes an electrolytic device for removing a scale component by the electrolysis of the water supplied to the heat exchanger, and a bypass route bypassing the electrolytic device and a cleaning route to make cleaning water flow in the electrolytic device. The device further includes: a polarity switching device for inverting polarities of a pair of electrodes provided in an electrolytic cell at each prescribed time; and a route control device which closes an electrolysis route for supplying water to the electrolytic device on an inversion operation by the polarity switching device, and opens the bypass route and the cleaning route, and opens the electrolysis route after a prescribed time has passed, and closes the bypass route and the cleaning route.
