    • PURPOSE:To easily and optically compensate the defect of a picture element of a liquid crystal panel by arranging a defective picture element compensating element which guides part of light transmitted through a nearby picture element to the transmitted light path of the defective picture element in front of the defective picture element. CONSTITUTION:A defective picture element compensating element 41 which is arranged in front of the defective picture element 12b is interposed between a glass plate 27 and a polarizing plate 31, fixed on the top surface of the glass plate 27, and equipped with a couple of light guiding-in parts 42 provided across the defective element 12b. The incidence end surface 43 of the light guiding-in part 42 faces part of adjacent picture elements 21a and 12c and a part of projection light from the picture elements 12a and 12c is made incident on the light guiding-in part 42; and one light beam I is reflected by total reflecting surfaces 44 and 45, transmitted through the polarizing plate 31 from a projection end surface 46, and projected out. The light beam II is similarly transmitted through the polarizing plate 31 and projected out, and the projected light beams I and II seem to have passed through the defective picture element 12b. Thus, the light transmitted through normal picture elements 12a and 12c on both the sides of the defective picture element 12b is guided to the defective picture element 12b to compensate the defect.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately position and receive another fiber ferrule constituting a co-operative connector.SOLUTION: The optical apparatus includes: an optical fiber; an optical device provided on a substrate; a circuit board on which the device substrate is mounted; an electric connecting body between the optical device and the circuit board; and a groove provided on the device substrate. A base end of the optical fiber or a first fiber segment near the base end is fixed to the device substrate in the groove, and a second fiber segment in a terminal side of the optical fiber is fixed to the circuit board. A ferrule holder is fixed to the circuit board, and comprises a ferrule sleeve and a fiber ferrule fixed in the ferrule holder. The second segment of the optical fiber is received by and fixed to the fiber ferrule. The ferrule sleeve has an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve fitted in the outer sleeve.
