    • In a method for constructing a weighbridge, the weighing platform is made of reinforced concrete and is built in a previously prepared foundation ditch which is used as a mold for the weighing platform. After the hardening of the foundation ditch (1) separating means (10, 11) are placed in the foundation ditch (1) for separating the weighing platform from the ditch (1). Subsequently, the weighing platform is cast in the foundation ditch (1). A weighing cell assembly for a weighbridge, which is particularly suitable for use when performing this method, includes a weighing cell, a support element (6) for the weighing cell and a tubular structural member (8) which can be connected to the weighing platform and holds the support element (6). The weighing platform can be supported on the weighing cell through the tubular structural member.

    • The production of a mat of wood chips and/or fibers, hereafter called wood particles, by a spreading station and a weighing device, is controlled in a closed loop circuit for uniformity, directly during the spreading of the wood particles. Several spreading devices form a spreading station. Electrical signals emanating from a tared weighing device which is arranged downstream of a first spreading device as viewed in the direction of travel of a conveyor belt, are used to control the output of the first spreading device. If desired, the output of one or more spreading devices located downstream of a weighing device may also be controlled in a closed loop circuit, whereby the weight of the partially formed mat moving over the weighing device produces the electrical control signal which is compared to a predetermined reference signal for controlling the production of the finished mat having one or several layers.

    • Bulk material that is difficult to feed, such as glass fibers, is fed from a storage bin into a feeding chute driven by a vibratory drive which vibrates the chute in a longitudinal direction of the chute, that is, in the feed advance direction of the chute. The chute may be a so-called loss-in-weight feeding chute. In order to assure a uniform, constant material flow without any bunching and without any gaps in the flow for an accurate feeding, the material flow is exposed or influenced by a further vibration effective in a direction substantially across the feed advance direction. For the purpose a vibrator with vibrating elements extending in the feed advance direction vibrates in the cross-direction. These vibrating elements are so located that they can make the material flow through the chute more uniform.

    • The operating or running characteristics of a vehicle tire or rim with a tire secured thereto are optimized on one and the same machine. For this purpose the tire or wheel is supported on a subcritically tuned support bridge structure and driven by a spindle with an adjustable r.p.m. The vibrations of the support bridge structure are measured and converted into respective electrical signals representing a wheel unbalance and/or tire non-uniformities while a drum is pressed with a predetermined force against the tire or vice versa. This force is also measured as an electrical signal. An angular position sensor is operatively connected to the tire or spindle and provides an electrical signal representing the instantaneous tire or wheel position relative to a polar coordinate system.

    • The present feed regulating conveyor bin has a lower conveyor for conveying fibrous materials toward a discharge device including a pair of inclined rows of spiked rollers. A stud link chain conveyor is provided above the lower conveyor in the upper portion of the bin housing. Flexible, smooth surfaced pieces are hinged to each of the stud links. The surface pieces have a width substantially equal to the width of the housing and a length greater than the distances between adjacent stud links of the chain. A platform is provided beneath the upper course of the stud link chain conveyor in the region of an inlet opening on the upper surface of the housing, to support the surface pieces in a horizontal position for receiving and transporting fibrous material. At the end of the platform the surface pieces hinge downwardly to drop the fibrous material onto the lower conveyor belt or if a pile of material is already present thereon, to carry the fibrous material on the other sides of the surface pieces supported by the top of the pile of material, for discharge at the end of the pile away from the discharge device.

    • A hydraulic eddy brake has a rotor and a stator both forming an eddy chamber. Liquid supply conduits lead to the center of the eddy chamber. The rotor shaft is sealed relative to the housing formed by the stator. The sealing is accomplished by noncontacting sealings. Leakage liquid is discharged to respective chambers located between the bearings and the eddy chamber proper. A gap is provided between the shaft and the housing. This gap is connected with the center of the eddy chamber through a liquid feedback which may include an intermediate chamber and respective liquid feedback conduits whereby the pressure at the point of leakage is minimized. Such brakes are used as absorption dynamometers to measure torque.

    • A clamping arrangement for clamping vehicle wheels against a rotatable counter plate of a test apparatus. A clamping plate is adjustably movable toward the counter plate.
