摘要： An image-receiving medium of the invention to be used in association with a thermal transfer sheet is characterized by comprising a single polyvinyl chloride resin sheet or a laminate of a plurality of such sheets, wherein at least one of the layers constituting said image-receiving medium to be superposed on said thermal transfer sheet to receive a dye from the thermal transfer sheet is formed of a polyvinyl chloride resin composition containing 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a plasticizer per 100 parts by weight of the polyvinyl chloride resin. This image-receiving medium eliminates the necessity of providing an image-receiving layer and enables rapid formation of a well-defined image such as face photograph according to the thermal transfer process without causing any curling resulting from thermal transfer.

The method and apparatus can be utilized for the inspection of sized portions in the sizing steps involved in a gathering machine, a box making machine, a bookbinding machine, and like machines.

摘要： A flexible optical information recording medium consists of a flexible resin layer having a corrugated pattern on its surface corresp. to the information to be recorded, and a reflection layer which is formed on the corrugated pattern of the resin layer and has light reflecting property. A flexible support layer supports the resin layer. To produce the flexible optical information recording medium, a resin soln. which is cured upon radiation of U.V. or electron beam is packed between the U.V. or electron beam-transmissible substrate film as the support layer, and a corrugated pattern original, and after this resin film is cured and shaped on the substrate film by radiating the U.V. or electron beam through the substrate film, the resulting cured film is peeled off. Another prodn. method comprises forming a resin layer which is cured by irradiation with U.V. or electron beam and has thermal mouldability on a U.V. or electron beam-transmissible substrate film, forming then a roll-shape transfer film, bringing the resin layer surface of this transfer film into pressure contact with a corrugated pattern forming surface of the original while heating it, performing the transfer of the corrugated pattern while the resin layer is being softened, radiating then a U.V. or electron beam through the substrate film, curing the softened resin layer and peeling off the transfer film from the original. A flat sheet-like adaptor is used in order to reproduce such a flexible optical information recording medium. Reproduction can be made particularly effectively by clamping the medium with a lower surface adaptor and an upper surface adaptor.

摘要： A concrete data format to achieve the following assignments, i.e., (1) to control the reading operation of a line sensor for a unit read column, (2) to maintain synchronism with data bits during the reading operation, (3) to discriminate neighboring unit read columns, (4) to cope with the generation of errors during the reading operation, and (5) to efficiently access the data. To achieve the above assignments, the data bits are arranged in the form of unit read columns, bars are provided to guide the line sensor, and a format is formed to instruct a central position of the unit read columns. Further, special bars are provided to correct the inclination of the line sensor. The data bits are arranged at predetermined periods, and synchronizing bits are provided to maintain synchronism with the period of data bits during the reading operation. There are further provided discrimination bits to discriminate the neighboring unit read columns during the reading operation. The discrimination bits may be so arranged that columns of even numbers and columns of odd numbers are discriminated from each other. Besides, the discrimination bits may be composed of three bits to increase the reliability. The format of this invention has particular error check bit(s) to cope with errors that may develop during the reading operation. Further, the data are recorded in a dispersed manner to cope with errors such as local smudges, and others. To efficiently acces the data, necessary data such as predetermined addresses are recorded together with general data. The invention further discloses a method of forming bits by modulating digital signals, and an optical system and a signal processing system of a reader for the optical data recording card. The optical data recorded in by the method of the invention is expected to find extensive applications as a recording medium for computer programs, video and music data, and a variety of data bases.
