    • 25,844. Dosch, P. Nov. 15. Mitreing. - The saw-carrying frame F is pivoted at E to the meeting-ends of an A-frame D to hold it against lateral movement, the separated ends of the A-frame being pivoted by double - diameter screws, Fig. 4, to the supports C, which form part of a turntable C . The larger threads screw into the uprights, and the members D of the frame are mounted on the reduced diameters, their pivot holes being reamed out and being pressed against the bevelled shoulder R to ensure exact fit. The ends of the A-frame have rear extensions, with slots M on which studs carrying springs O are adjusted, according to the size and weight of the saw, and according as it is desired that the weight of the saw should be more than balanced by the springs, or vice-versa, the other ends of the springs being attached to the machine framing. The saw-carrying frame F has an extension J, to which is pivoted a bar G, also pivoted to one of the supports C, for maintaining the saw horizontal. The frame F has two bifurcated ends, Fig. 3, in which are mounted two elastic saw bearing-plates p , p , preferably of spring brass, and shaped either for a backless saw or one x as shown, and engaged by four screws to hold the saw-frame vertical. The turntable has an extension U which carries a locking-pin a, normally pressed by a spring z into engagement with holes w made opposite the indicating-marks on a graduated rack y. In order to fix the frame at intermediate positions, A thumb-latch d is pivoted to the extension U, and its end h is pressed into contact with a rack by a spring g, the meeting-surfaces being roughened if desired. The rectangular work stop j has the horizontal part passing through a clamp k, which is adjusted by a screw l entering a bracket m, so that when it is slackened the stop may be presented transversely or longitudinally of the fixed worktable A, or at any other angle.

    • 108,356. Dosch, P., and Dosch, C. R. Aug. 2, 1916. Disk apparatus.-In a disk grinding-machine, a motor 3 having a base 2 extended outwardly drives a grinding-disk 9 the lower part of which is housed in a dust-collector 1 depending from the extended part of the motor base. The work table 16 is carried by arcuate brackets 15 fitted with inwardly extending ribs engaging with channels or recesses in the opposite sides of the collector, the inner edge of the table being at the centre about which the brackets move so that for all adjustments it is the same distance from the grinding- disk. One bracket may, as shown, be provided with a scale. A cross-rod 17 with a nut member 19 serves to clamp the brackets in position. The disk 9, faced with sand paper or emery cloth 10, is detachably secured to a plate 6 upon the motor shaft 4 by nuts 12 upon pins 11 in engagement with key-hole slots in the plate, and, to facilitate the removal of the disk the table is provided with a detachable forward section 21. A workguide 23 is pivoted to a block 24 which is slidable in a transverse groove 25 in the table.
