摘要： PURPOSE: To form a tubular sheath of a catheter by removing a polymer material by the laser, in a condition that the catheter is positioned on an path of the coherent light, and is rotated while applying the light to the catheter along a predetermined path. CONSTITUTION: An assembly of a catheter and a needle is removed from a manufacturing machine by an arm 19, to be placed on a carrier 20 on a positioning device 21. The positioning device 21 comprises a series of carriages 22, and each of them has a position for the sub-assembly of the catheter and a canula. The carriage 22 is rotated around the positioning device 21 to be carried to a set position. The sub-assembly of the catheter and the canula, is located on a position for shielding one of the divided beams 24, and is rotated at a specific speed. The sub-assembly is exposed by the laser for about 2 seconds, and the material of the catheter is conically removed.

摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a catheter to inhibit leakage generated by improper seal on body tissue. CONSTITUTION: A needle 25 can be disassembled and the material of its catheter is formed of extremely hydrophilic polymer. Immediately after removing the needle 15, the catheter 20 is brought in touch with water and other water solution, for instance blood or medicated medicine liquid in vein, to be expanded. When the catheter is expanded, the outer diameter 24 of the catheter tube seals a tube in body tissue to inhibit leakage from the body tissue around the tube. Further, the inner diameter 22 of the catheter tube is expanded to allow a higher infusion flow rate of intravenous liquid into a body.

Then, the needle can be safely cleared off without danger of accidental sting.

摘要： PURPOSE: To prevent blood from flowing back between an insertion needle and a catheter cannula by wiping fitting the bore of the catheter cannula to the engaged insertion needle to form the front end of a catheter hub. CONSTITUTION: A catheter hub 152 is formed by molding method in such a way that a bore decreases at the front end 152 of the hub. The catheter hub 152 is drawn, a catheter hub 50 is inserted into the hub, and a metallic sleeve 16 is secured to an appropriate position. After the cannula and hub of the catheter have been assembled together, the front end of the catheter hub 152 is heated to its softening point, the effect of this heating reducing stresses which the material of the catheter hub undergo during a drawing step, so that the hub relieved of the stresses takes its originally configured shape while the front end 156 of the hub contracts on the peripheral surface of the catheter cannula. Therefore, the cannula is wiping fitted to an inner needle 24 to prevent leakage between the needle and the cannula and flow into the catheter hub.
