A communication endpoint includes a data storage device including a boot loader partition, a boot loader settings partition, and a plurality of combo image partitions. A method includes receiving an update package including a new combo image and one or more repair modules configured to diagnose and repair at least one of a boot loader, boot loader settings, and a file system of the communication endpoint. The method also includes replacing a combo image stored on one of the plurality of combo image partitions with the new combo image, and executing at least one of the one or more repair modules. A software update server includes a data storage device including the update package, and communication elements configured to transmit the update package to the communication endpoint.

摘要： A communication system facilitating communication for assisting hearing-impaired users includes an analog telephone adaptor (ATA) device and a communication device. The communication device is configured to route digital voice data between the ATA device and a second communication device during a conversation involving the communication device and a second communication device through a wireless port of communication device, and communicate through the wireless port with a relay service configured to provide interpretive assistance for a hearing-impaired user of the communication device. A method includes routing digital voice data received wirelessly by a communication device to an ATA device, routing digital voice data received from the ATA device from the communication device wirelessly to a second communication device, and communicating wirelessly with a relay service configured to provide captioning services of the content of a portion of the voice data received by the communication device from the second communication device.

摘要： Methods and devices for enabling and disabling updating an adaptive filter for echo cancellation of a communication device are disclosed. An echo canceller may include an adaptive filter that may be enabled to update responsive to a determination that a first condition is satisfied that there is no double talk detected on the communication device, and a determination that a second condition is satisfied based, at least in part, on the performance characteristic. The adaptive filter may be disabled from updating responsive to at least one of the first condition and the second condition not being satisfied. Disabling the adaptive filter from updating may be responsive to detecting a performance characteristic of the adaptive filter to fail to meet a condition indicating that the adaptive filter is diverging. The condition to be met may be independent of whether double-talk is determined to be present on the communication device.

The communication device comprises communication elements, a memory device storing a plurality of sets of training parameters for an echo canceller, and a processor operably coupled with the communication elements and the memory device. The communication elements are configured to receive audio signals from a far end communication device, and to receive text captions corresponding to the audio signals from a relay service for display by the communication device during a call. Each set of training parameters corresponding to a different audio mode for the communication device. The processor is configured to execute an echo canceller by loading a first set of training parameters when a first audio mode is selected, and a second set of training parameters when a second audio mode is selected.
