    • A telescoping connector assembly comprising a hollow rectangular bezel adapted for mounting in a patch bay panel frame. A plurality of telescoping connectors are mounted in the bezel and are adapted for relative movement thereto between a rearward position and a forward position. For this purpose, each of the telescoping connectors illustratively comprises a subframe having a pair of upper and lower runners adapted to engage complementary pairs of upper and lower slots formed in the bezel. The runners are fabricated from a flexible material, which allows the connectors to be extracted from the bezel by applying a bending force to the runners.

    • There is disclosed a connector and method for terminating a cable comprised twisted pairs of conductors. One major drawback of the prior art is that, as the point of insertion of individual conductors into the connectors is arranged along a parallel line, unwanted cross-talk and the like may arise, thus reducing the connectors' performance, especially at high frequencies. Moreover, the separation between the conductors of a twisted pair is not rigorously maintained. In one aspect of the invention the connector (10) comprises a wire lead guide (16) for arranging the twisted pairs of conductors (70) and a plurality of piercing contacts (40) which interconnect with respective ones of the twisted pairs of conductors when the wire guide is secured to the module. In a further aspect of the invention the wire lead guide is secured to the module. In a further aspect of the invention the wire lead guide (16) ensures that the spacing between the conductors of a particular twisted pair (70) is maintained, thereby improving the performance of the subsequent assembly.

    • A patch panel with angled connector modules for mounting to a telecommunications rack comprising a frame comprising a flat elongate frame member having an opening formed therein for mounting one of the connector module. The outer vertical surfaces of each connector module are outwardly angled relative to one another to form a generally V-shape when viewed from above. The modules are reversible and two modules can therefore be mounted to the frame member with a reversed left-to-right orientation. A pattern of modules can thus be created on a single frame as well as along the length of the rack by stacking a plurality of frames one on top of the other. In particular, two modules can be mounted such that their outer vertical surfaces are either substantially parallel or intersect at an angle.

    • A patch panel labelling system for mounting to a telecommunications rack. The system comprises a connector module mounted to the rack and having a front face with a plurality of connectors. A labelling plate is mounted to the module for movement about a first pivot axis between a first position where the plate is substantially parallel to the front face of the module and a second position where the plate is pivoted away from the front face for providing access to the connectors. The plate can be further pivoted about a second pivot axis to selectively hide or reveal the labels provided thereon for identifying the connectors. The plate can be also be slid underneath the module for storage.
