    • A combined shelf and clothes bar assembly is adapted for fastening to the walls of different sized clothes closets for supporting a shelf panel and a hanger bar that can both be cut to match the width of the closet. The assembly includes a pair of elongated front and rear edge cleats of generally E-shaped cross-section for being secured to the front and rear edges of the shelf panel. The edge cleats can be cut to match the length of the shelf panel. The edge cleats have elongated channels that slidably engage the front and rear edges of the shelf, and inwardly facing lower flanges spaced below the underside of the shelf. A pair of outer shelf support brackets have slots for slidably receiving opposite end portions of the shelf panel and the channel and lower flange portions of the edge cleats. A center support bracket supports the shelf panel. The center bracket has slotted front and rear edges for slidably engaging the lower flanges of the edge cleats so the center bracket can slide lengthwise along the lower flanges below the shelf panel. The outer shelf support brackets and the center support bracket carry hanger bar sockets spaced below the shelf panel. The hanger bar passes through the socket on the center support bracket and is inserted in the sockets on the outer support brackets for supporting the hanger bar below the shelf. The outer support brackets are fastened to the end walls of the closet and the center support bracket is fastened to a back wall of the closet. One end of a diagonal shelf brace snap locks into engagement with a socket on the center support bracket and an opposite end of the diagonal brace is fastened to the back wall of the closet for adding stiffness to the assembled shelf.

    • A drawer handle can be removably mounted over a drawer front without fasteners or the like. The drawer front has a recessed region to facilitate opening the drawer, and the drawer handle can be snap-locked onto the drawer front to cover the recess and provide an optional means of opening the drawer. The drawer handle is of inverted U-shaped channel configuration including elongated front and rear flanges extending along a narrow base of the channel. The front and rear flanges can be spread apart to facilitate slipping the channel over the drawer front so the base of the channel rests on the upper edges of the drawer front, and the front and rear flanges overlie front and rear faces of the drawer front. The rear flange covers the recess in the drawer front, while the front flange is foreshortened relative to the rear flange and extends across the mid-point of the recess to provide a means for opening the drawer. A locking flange extending along the bottom edge of the rear flange projects into a slot adjacent a rear face of the drawer for snap-locking the handle into releasable engagement with the drawer front. Projecting ribs adjacent the rear face act as stops against lateral sliding movement of the handle. The front and rear flanges can be spread apart to release the locking flange from engagement with the slot so the channel can be removed from the drawer front.

    • A readily assembled tray for storing articles under a bed or the like is formed from a flat, elastically bendable rectangular sheet (12) which is bent near each edge and corner for forming integral bottom and sides of the tray without creasing the sheet. Each corner of the sheet is notched to permit such bending. Four rigid side rails (13) are detachably connectable along edges of the sheet for collectively forming a rigid rim for the tray. Four corner connectors (14) secure edges of the notches together at the corners and secure the rails on the edges of the sheet. Preferably each of the corner connectors is an integral plastic molding in the form of a concave clamshell mating with an outside of a corner and a convex clamshell mating with an inside of the corner and connected to the outer clamshell by a membrane of plastic serving as a hinge line running diagonally across the corner. Elastic tangs (37) latch the two moieties of each corner connector to each other and to the sheet.

    • A panel door comprising framing members, corner connectors and a door panel is disclosed. The framing members comprise a side wall and spaced apart first and second walls extending generally normal to the side wall. The first and second walls form a channel. The framing member comprises a deflection arm which is deflected by and which generates a return force against a door panel having an edge inserted into the front channel. Preferred framing members have a generally "E" shaped cross section and comprise a side wall and spaced apart front, intermediate and rear walls, the front and intermediate walls form a front channel and the intermediate wall comprises a deflection arm. The deflection arm of preferred stiles extends from a pivot position between the edges of the intermediate wall toward the front and side walls. The deflection arm of preferred rails is bent at a position between its edges and extends from the bend away from the side wall and toward the plane of the front wall.

    • This pivot assembly for a swinging or folding door can be readily adjusted for door height or position of the door pivot axis relative to the door jamb. An L-shaped bracket is connected into the corner between the floor and door jamb. The bracket has a number of discontinuities parallel to the floor to prevent translation. A pivot is mounted on the lower corner of the door, preferably by a plastic sleeve. The sleeve is threaded on the inside and a threaded pin is mounted therein. The lower end of the pin has means directly engaging the jamb bracket to prevent rotation and translation of the pin. To adjust the door in most embodiments it is lifted so that the head of the pin is out of engagement with the teeth in the slot. The pin is rotated by hand to move it up or down in the threaded sleeve. The pivot axis of the pin is adjusted by moving the pin to a desired position on the bracket. In other embodiments a sliding portion on the pin is moved out of engagement with the bracket to adjust door height and distance of the pivot axis from the jamb.
