This invention is of particular industrial interest in the field of color photographic materials, as it permits absorption of UV radiation near 400nm and not above 420 nm. The absorption of UV radiation within the range of 380 to 400 nm for a gelatin layer comprising the absorber of the present invention is illustrated in figure 1.
