    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat assembly which is integrated with a seat itself, is mechanically simple, a small size manufactured at low cost, is operated even if an operator is positioned at any part of the seat, and is equipped with an operator presence switch being less obstructive than an operator feels the presence.
      SOLUTION: Both a lever 16 and an operator presence switch 20 are positioned between a seat cushion 14 and a seat cushion support pan 12. The lever 16 is movable between upper and lower positions. A spring energizes the lever 16 to the upper position. The switch 20 is designed and located so that all of its components are housed within the support pan 12 and none of these components extends below or outside of the pan 12. When the seat is occupied, the occupant's weight depresses the cushion 14 and, in turn, the lever 16 moves against the force of the spring toward its lower position and the switch 20 is actuated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unique one-piece type magnesium die cast seat frame being hard, having durability and manufactured at relatively inexpensive costs.
      SOLUTION: The seat frame 10 comprises a unitary magnesium die cast body (simple main body) 12 having a top face 14, a bottom face 16, both sides 18, 20, a front face 22 and a back face 24. The front face 22 has an outer perimeter flange 28 positioned adjacent to the both sides 18, 20 and the top face 14 of the main body. An inner perimeter flange 30 is spaced from and coextensive with the outer perimeter flange 28. The front face 22 has also at least one approximately horizontally extending horizontal flange 34 and at least two diagonally extending diagonal flanges 36. This constitution and die cast magnesium are used. The frame main body has a large hole 44 in a position to lower the gravity center of a seat assembly.
