    • An ammunition cartridge assembly including a case and a projectile positioned along a longitudinal axis towards the front end of the case. An endcap coupled to the front end of the case is adapted to retain the projectile entirely within the case. A primer is positioned along the longitudinal axis towards the base end of the case. A primer support is coupled to the base end of the case and is adapted to support the primer within the case. A groove is located on the interior surface of the primer support into which the primer expands under pressure during firing. Under firing pressure, the primer is deformed to create a retaining ring that locks the primer to the primer support after the pressure is released. The cartridge assembly includes at least one obturating lip seal to seal at least one of the endcap or the primer support to the case.

    • A two piece, two-stage, reduced-energy mechanically operating cartridge is provided for launching, a configured bullet choice of various compositions from a dedicated or modified firearm. The cartridge unit is comprised of a primary case having a cavity to receive a propellant unit or propellant connection and a piston sleeve having a cavity to receive the configured bullet choice, the primary case coupled to the piston sleeve. The cartridge having a retracted pre-firing state and an expanded fired state whereby the piston sleeve and primary case telescope apart forcing, the firearm's slide or bolt to the rear, a mechanical operation opposed to a conventional cartridge with gas blow back operations.

Further, the cartridge includes a detachable nose fairing fitted inside and contacting the annular sleeve to form a nose fairing sleeve assembly, wherein the nose fairing is integral with the projectile and is located at the tapered fore-section of the projectile, the assembly defining a support for the tapered fore-section of the projectile. The cartridge advantageously includes fixed supports defined by elongated ridges fitted between the nose fairing and the casing and extending to the aft section of the projectile to provide support therefor, wherein spaces are defined between the fixed supports. A propellant charge is disposed within the casing and is in contact with the cylindrical aft section of the projectile, and is disposed within the spaces of the fixed supports.

    • A cartridge case 76 for a cased telescoped ammunition round 10. Cartridge case 76 includes a hollow cylindrical outer casing 12 the axis 18 of which is also the axis of symmetry of round 10. The inner surface of outer casing 12 has a longitudinal groove 50 formed in it along which groove 48 outer casing 12 splits when round 10 is fired. A front seal 20 closes the front end of casing 12 and a rear seal 22 closes the rear end of casing 12. Three bolts 52, 53, 54 which are made of a material having a yield strength greater than the maximum stress to which the bolts 52, 53, 54 are subjected when round 10 is fired interconnect front and rear seals 20, 22.
