摘要： The electric incandescent lamp has a lamp vessel (1) in which a filament (3) is disposed substantially concentric with the longitudinal axis (2) of the lamp vessel (1). Current conductors (4) extend from the lamp vessel (1), an internal conductor (10) part of which is substantially concentrically with the axis (2) and has an end portion (11) having unround cross-sections (12). An end portion (6) of the filament (3) is wound onto the unround cross-sections (12) of a respective internal conductor (10) to constitute clamping windings (5). The lamp is of a simple construction to obtain reliably a concentrically mounted filament.

摘要： To insure that lamps which have a non-rotation symmetrical feature or strure with respect to aligned bases (e.g., a tipped-off exhaust or pumping stub) are placed in a predetermined preferred operating position when inserted into socket terminals (2a, 2b), the lamp bases are formed with stepped surface abnormalities (10a, 10b), for example, in the form of recesses or projections from a terminal engagement surface (8a, 8b) extending perpendicularly to the lamp axis (A--A); socket springs (2a, 2b) have matching surface abnormalities which interengage with the surface abnormality on the base, for example by being formed with ridges, or depressions. The lamp thus can be inserted in such bases only if the respective surface abnormalities on the lamp bases and in the socket terminals can engage. The lamp, however, can be used also with socket terminals which do not have such interengagement surface abnormalities, so that the lamps are universally usable with specific location-determining sockets, or with sockets where the position of the lamp must be determined by a user.

摘要： An incandescent lamp assembly, such as an automobile headlight, includes a reflector defining a cavity having a reflecting surface, and an incandescent lamp capsule mounted within the reflector. The incandescent lamp capsule, typically a tungsten halogen incandescent lamp capsule, includes a light-transmissive envelope, a filament sealed in the envelope and a fill material including an inert gas and a halogen additive. A specularly reflective coating is formed on a portion of the envelope for reflecting visible light and infrared radiation emitted by the filament and not directed to the reflecting surface of the reflector. The envelope is ellipsoidally shaped, at least in the portion having the reflective coating, so that the reflective coating reflects visible light and infrared radiation emitted by the filament back to the filament. The reflective coating limits glare and increases the operating efficiency of the headlight.
