The orifice 5 should have an area of between 60 per cent and 85 per cent of the area of the exhaust nozzle of the combustion chamber and should preferably be 80 per cent of that area. The orifice increases the operating pressure of the intensifier. When decomposition is established in the combustion chamber, the pressure in the chamber 1 will be supplied to the intensifier 4 through conduits 3 and 6. As the rate of flow will be small, the orifice 5 will then have a negligible effect.
