The tire (10) defines a cross-sectional shape and include first and second bead cores (42, 44) which are coupled to the wheel assembly (12) via the rim (16) and the bead-lock (38, 40). The tire (10) includes a carcass layer (60) extending laterally between the first and second bead cores (42, 44).The carcass layer (60) includes first and second turnups (62, 64) extending around the first and second bead cores (42, 44). The tire (10) further includes a material beam layer (74) extending laterally between the first and second bead cores (42, 44) and radially exterior relative to the carcass layer (60). The tire (10) also includes a sidewall stiffening layer (82) extending laterally at least substantially from the first to the second bead core (42, 44). The carcass layer (60), the material beam layer (74), and/or the sidewall stiffening layer (82) are configured such that the cross-sectional shape or the radial height of the tire (10) remains substantially constant when supporting a load.

The retaining cap prevents rotation of the nut once it has been tightened In some embodiments an aesthetic cover is provided to improve the appearance of the wheel. This aesthetic cover may also be used to lock the retaining cap to the nu and provide an indication that the nut is securely fastened.

摘要： An improved mechanism to secure a tire between a bead ring and a wheel utilizing a bolt is provided. The bolt has a ball seat that pivots within an enlarged pilot hole in the bead ring as the bolt threads engage in threaded section of the wheel, pulling the bead ring toward the wheel. As the bead ring is tightened upon the wheel, eventually the bead ring contacts a fulcrum on the wheel, at which point the outer edge of the bead ring is leveraged against the tire bead bundle and pressing down the tire bead to lock it in place against the wheel. As the bead ring can pivot within the enlarged pilot hole around the bolt, the bolt is not stressed. Further, the wheel comprising a safety bead and non-skid coating on the inner wall of the wheel to prevent the wheel sliding around the wheel.

An axial retaining cap consists of an upper externally screw threaded first portion which is adapted to engage the second internal screw thread of said body extension of said nut and attached to said first portion a second cap portion having internal grooves or ribs complementary to the external ribs or grooves on said wheel stud adapted to fit over said wheel stud and having external ribs or grooves adapted to engage the internal set of axial grooves or ribs on the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut. The first portion of said retaining cap is able to be rotated so that it moves axially down the internal screw thread of the second section of said body extension of said wheel nut so that the second portion of said cap is pushed down the end of said wheel stud and is held between the external ribs and grooves of the end of said wheel stud and the internal ribs and grooves of the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut.
