摘要： A video signal output circuit used in a TV set to sample the frequency level of an input video signal so that monitored pictures are automatically optimized in quality. A luminance signal is separated from the input video signal by a Y/C separator. A plurality of band-pass filters whose passing frequencies are f₁, f₂, f₃, ..., f n detect the frequency spectrum of the luminance signal through sampling. The detected values are sent to a controller attached to an equalizer. The equalizer is controlled so that monitored pictures based on the output video signal are optimized in quality.

A second FIR filter (32,33,34,35,38,41,42) having a generally low pass frequency response receives the filtered luminance signals from the first FIR filter. A third FIR filter (33,35,36,37,39,40,43,44,45, 46,47) which includes a variable scaling circuit (47) responsive to gain control signals (50) also receives the filtered luminance signals from the first FIR filter. The third FIR filter has a frequency response in which the relatively high frequency spectrum of the luminance signal is attenuated less than the relatively low frequency spectrum of the luminance signal. A combining means (48) combines the outputs of the second and third FIR Filter. The system is intended to provide a subjective improvement in sharpness and fine detail of a television picture.

摘要： The invention relates to a filter arrangement for a demodulated quadrature amplitude modulated (QAM) signal comprising a first channel (17I) for a cosinusoidale demodulated component of the QAM signal, a second channel (17Q) for a sinusoidal demodulated component of the QAM signal, a filter circuit (10', 10'') which receives two said signal components and has a transmission function for each signal component. The transmission function is comprised of terms which are in-phase with said signal component and out-of-phase with said signal component by π/2 and/or -π/2. The filter circuit is comprised of a cross arm (9) for tapping the out-of-phase terms of the transmission function corresponding to the portions of the signal from the other respective channel. In order to produce a filter arrangement requiring less circuitry and to integrate a semiconductor substrate onto a smaller surface, an inventive circuit configuration (19, 21; 19, 23) is provided. In a first mode, said circuit configuration connects the input of the cross arm (9) to the first channel (17I) and the output thereof to the second channel (17Q). In a second mode, said circuit configuration connects the input of the cross arm (9) to the second channel (17Q) and the output thereof to the first channel (17I). In addition, a suited slope detector is specially provided for use with said filtering arrangement.

摘要： When a video signal including a component modulated onto a subcarrier (such as a PAL signal) is subjected to a non-linear pre-emphasis known for MAC signals, with the object of reducing the effects of noise encountered in transmitting the composite signal through an f.m. channel, problems of noise and differential gain remain. These problems are overcome by subjecting the composite signal to a filtering step, before application of the non-linear processing, so as to filter out the subcarrier, the chrominance subcarrier in a PAL signal, and to compand the chrominance sidebands. Preferably a notch filter is used which has a notch shaped as a Gaussian curve.
