    • An expansion card socket used to fix an expansion card includes a main body and a latching member. The main body includes a fixing portion defining a slot for fixing the expansion card, and a clamping portion perpendicularly extending from an end of the fixing portion. The latching member is fixed to the clamping portion. A guiding portion extends from a surface of the latching member and gradually tapers to an edge in a direction away from the fixing portion of the main body, and the guiding portion is configured for guiding airflow to dissipate heat from the expansion card.

    • A connector with a locking mechanism includes an insulating body, a plurality of terminals, a metallic casing and a pair of locking pieces. Both sides of the insulating body are provided with two accommodating troughs. The insulating body is provided with pivot shafts in the two accommodating troughs respectively. The terminals are provided in the insulating body. The metallic casing is provided on the insulating body. The two locking pieces are provided in the two accommodating troughs respectively. Each locking piece is provided with a pivot hole, and the pivot hole is fitted with the pivot shaft of the insulating body. The locking piece is formed with an elastic arm by extending from a wall surface of the pivot hole. The elastic arm abuts against the pivot shaft. Via this arrangement, the locking piece is simple in structure, and can be manufactured easily, thereby reducing production costs.

    • A single-motion trigger line card insertion/removal tool uses a handle and a spring-loaded sliding trigger to allow a technician to grab the line card insertion/removal tool with their thumb and pointer fingers, and pull the trigger while rotating the handle to eject the line card from a network device. The motion of pulling the trigger simultaneously unlocks the line card insertion/removal tool, starts the rotation of the handle with the spring load, and closes a “window” on an optical switch breaking a continuous beam of light that software interprets as a warning that the line card will be removed momentarily. When the line card insertion/removal tool handle is rotated back to a closed position (i.e. while inserting the card), the spring tension pulls the trigger back to its original position, locking the line card insertion/removal tool handle, and opening the window for to the beam of light in the optical switch.
