摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing or eliminating formation of an oxide which becomes hindrance in manufacturing or operation, in regard to a fluid switch.
SOLUTION: This method comprises (i) a step providing a switching fluid on a first substrate under low oxygen partial pressure which is low oxygen partial pressure which is below a critical value reducing formation of oxide and (ii) a step fitting the first substrate and a second substrate to delimit a cavity holding the switching fluid between them. The cavity is made in a size allowing movement between first and second states of the switching fluid.

SOLUTION: The MEMS variable optical attenuator includes a substrate 121 having a flat upper face, a light transmission end 129a and a light receiving end 129b which are so arranged on the substrate 121 that the optical axes mutually coincide, a microelectronic actuator which supplies the driving stroke which is arranged on the substrate 121 and is operated in the direction orthogonal to the optical axis, at least one of lever structures 133a, 133b, 134a, 134b, 135a and 135b which are arranged on the substrate 121 and used for receiving the driving stroke of the microelectronic actuator at a first end and supplying from a second end with an amplified dislocation, and a light blocking film 127 which is so arranged on the substrate 121 to be connected to the second end of the lever structures 133a, 133b, 134a, 134b, 135a and 135b, and moved to a predetermined attenuation position on the optical axis according to the amplified displacement.
