Pressurized air is directed to a cylindrical segment of a sliver guiding system down stream from a tapered conical section so that the pressurized air draws the fiber fleece through the sliver guiding system without requiring lateral venting or expansion of the pressurized air. The pressurized air vents from the front end of the cylindrical section adjacent the nip of the pair of calendar rollers.

摘要： A bearing device for use in textile drafting roller pairs for supporting the top roller of a drafting roller pair. The bearing device finds particular use with magnetic drafting rollers, but can be used with other types of roller configurations. The bearing device allows for the top roller to be selectively positioned with respect to the bottom roller in order to allow removal of the top roller and to prevent deformation of cots or aprons provided thereon during machine stoppage. A rotating debris excluding interface is also provided through interaction of the bearing device and the end of a roller. Handles are attached to the bearing device for allowing extraction of the top roller from a roller pair, and ribs may be provided on the bearing device or receptacle therefor to facilitate piecing up of a broken yarn. Related methods of use of the bearing device are also disclosed.

The two or more fibrous inputs are provided in the form of staple fibers, which are at least partially entangled with each other to form a mixed fiber sliver. The mixed fiber sliver includes a first plurality of cellulose acetate staple fibers blended with a second plurality of staple fibers comprising a polymeric material different from the first plurality of staple fibers, such as staple fibers of a degradable polymeric material. The entangled fibers of the mixed fiber sliver may be sufficiently separated from one another such that blooming operations typically required in filter element production may not be necessary prior to incorporating the mixed fiber sliver into a filter element. Related methods, apparatuses and mixed fiber products are also provided by the disclosure.
