    • Systems and methods for treatment of wastewater in waste processing ponds and other enclosed bodies of water are provided. An aerator are configured to include a first set of concentric air hoses disposed at a first position between the water outflow lip and the water intake, the first set of concentric air hoses being in fluid communication with an air inlet disposed at a position on the upper float chassis above the surface level of the water; and a second set of concentric air hoses disposed at a second position between the water first set of concentric air hoses and the water intake, the second set of concentric air hoses being in fluid communication with the air inlet, wherein the first set of concentric air hoses and the second set of concentric air hoses emit jets of air bubbles into the water column between the water intake and the water outflow lip.

    • A submersible aerator has an impeller which includes blades having partition walls which separate liquid passages and air passages and which is accommodated within a guide casing for rotation between a lower surface of an intermediate plate having an air suction opening and an upper surface of a suction cover having a liquid suction opening. The liquid passages and the air passages meet through communication portions at radially outer ends of rear-side blade partition walls. Intermediate blades are provided at radially outer ends of the liquid passages. A conical space is defined between the blade lower end surfaces and the suction cover upper surface such that the space, which is wide at a portion adjacent to the liquid suction opening, becomes narrower toward a radially outward region including guide vane tongues. A plurality of support legs and a plurality of straining projections are integrally formed on the lower surface of a peripheral portion of a bottom wall of the guide casing. Sloping surfaces are provided on the top wall upper surface between air-liquid discharge passages such that the sloping surfaces are inclined downward and increase in width in the radially outward direction.

    • A system and method for oxygenating an aerobic sludge digester is provided. The disclosed embodiments include an aerobic sludge digester tank or vessel having a mechanically agitated contactor disposed therein, an oxygen injection subsystem adapted to inject oxygen into the digester tank proximate the mechanically agitated contactor. The embodiments of the mechanically agitated contactor include an agitator or impeller disposed within the draft tube which makes the draft tube the primary site for the gas-liquid mixing. In particular, the agitator or impeller is adapted to create gas bubbles having an average diameter between about 0.3 mm and 3.0 mm which are then dispersed into the aerobic digester. The mass transfer efficiency associated with the present system and method is enhanced from the combined effect of oxygen dissolution into the sludge and greater bubble residence time.
