摘要： A medicine container has a closure to prevent tampering prior to sale. A lock ring has a closure integrally formed to it for enclosing the contents of the container. A locking device is formed on the lock ring and on the container sidewall so as to allow the lock ring to be pushed into the container, but preventing its removal without destroying the container or the lock ring. An annular score line is provided between the lock ring and the closure. This score line allows opening of the contents by breaking the closure from the lock ring, which then remains with the container. A conventional cap can then be secured to the sidewall of the container for subsequent use.

In this way the peripheral ridge (PR) of the lid (L) acts as a seat for the bottom edge of the base of an overlying box, whereby the boxes are securely stacked since they can not slide on with respect to the other.

A plastic closure (34) has an internally threaded skirt (54) for receipt over the externally threaded finish (38) and a locking lug (62) on the skirt for engagement with the locking lug (48) on the release element (44) to prevent unthreading of the closure from the finish. Manual flexure of the release element (44) moves the locking lug (48) on the release element out of engagement with the locking lug (62) on the skirt to permit removal of the closure. The release element (44) on the container finish is positioned with respect to the container shoulder (40) such that abutment of the release element against the external surface (46) of the shoulder prevents over-flexing of the release element away from the closure.
