    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet head which is excellent in a meniscus stability while being able to hold the meniscus at a high position, to discharge an ink droplet stably and to improve the discharge responsiveness, and an image forming apparatus equipped with the same head. SOLUTION: The ink jet head includes a plurality of delivery perforations for discharging the ink droplet, a delivery electrode for making an electrostatic force affect the ink in corresponding to the perforations and an ink guide projecting from the perforations. The ink guide is equipped with a plate-like leg and a plate-like point extended from the end of the leg, and the point is arranged towards the droplet discharge side. The point is extended with a level difference so that it may have the same plane as the one of the end of the leg at the one surface side and may have the thickness thinner than the one of the leg at the other surface side. The point has a tip shape which becomes gradually thinner towards the droplet discharge side, and the electrostatic force affecting the ink has a component travelling towards the tip at least along with the tip.     • A liquid ejection system ejects a liquid jet through a nozzle. A drop formation device modulates the jet causing portions to break off into drop pairs, including first and second drops, separated on average by a drop pair period, and modulates the jet to cause portions to break off into larger third drops separated on average by the same period. A charging device includes a varying electrical potential source providing a waveform including first and second distinct voltage states and a period equal to the drop formation period. The charging device and the formation device are synchronized to produce first, second, and third charge to mass ratios on the first, second, and third drops, respectively. A deflection device causes the first, second, and third drops to travel along first, second, and third paths, respectively. The first and third charge to mass ratios and paths are substantially the same.

    • An inkjet recording apparatus includes an ink particle generation unit that makes a pressurized ink injected from a nozzle into particles, a charging unit that electrically charges the ink particle of those subjected to particulation, which corresponds to a dot to be printed, a polarizing unit that polarizes the electrically charged ink particle in a polarizing electric field, a collection unit that allows a gutter to collect the ink particle corresponding to the dot that is not printed, and a character forming unit that forms a character as a dot matrix on a printing object. A phase detection charging signal is applied to the ink particle that is not used for printing when forming the dot matrix character so as to detect an optimum charging timing in a process of forming the dot matrix character.
