摘要： Aspects of the invention relate to an applicator, and methods of use thereof, which can house multiple component formulations in separate material receptacles, which components can then be easily combined at the time of use without assembly by the user. In certain embodiments, a device of the invention can be used for, but is not limited to, applying hydrogel formulations to dura mater, abdominal tissue in hernia repair, tissues near the spine, lung tissue, intestinal tissue, or any of the internal tissues. In certain embodiments, a device of the invention can be configured to apply a spray or a stream of a liquid formulation to a surface. In certain embodiments, a device of the invention can be configured to deliver the formulation through an endoscope or laparoscope.

摘要： The invention relates to a system for dispensing two components, including a syringe or cartridge and a mixer. The system is characterized in that the edges of the mixer inlet openings on the cartridge end and the transfer channel outlets linked with the cartridge outlets are disposed and configured to allow a vacuum-free replacement of the mixer. The planes of the openings on the adapter outlets or on the cartridge outlets or the planes of the openings of the mixer inlets form an angle, especially an angle of 90°, with the longitudinal axes of the outlets or inlets. The inventive systems allows removal of the mixers without producing a vacuum, thereby preserving the filling level of the two components and allowing a correct mixing ratio from the outset once the new mixer is placed on the syringe or cartridge.

The cartridge and the mixer form an interconnected unit and the closure, arranged between the outlets of the cartridge and the inlets of the mixer, is configured as a valve arrangement in order to establish a connection between the cartridge outlets and the mixing elements of the mixer after performing a relative movement between the mixer and the cartridge or syringe. In certain embodiments of the invention the connection is effected by rotation of the mixing unit relative to the cartridge, and in other embodiments of the invention by axial displacement of the mixing unit relative to the cartridge. This results in a disposable dispensing unit that can be economically produced and is particularly easy to use.

A syringe system of this kind, using double syringes, allows an unproblematic storage and an easy and thorough mixing of multiple components as well as a simple dispensing of the mixtures. An arrangement of this kind offers particular advantages when the first syringe contains a powder or granulate, e.g. bone cement or a bone replacement material.

摘要： A dispensing container, such as a double-barrel cartridge used in dispensing dental material, matingly receives a sliding cap that maintains a seal between material in the barrels and the atmosphere. The cap includes a body and a gasket within the body, and the cap also includes a cam portion that shifts the body slightly away from an outlet of the container as the cap is moved toward a closed position to seal the container. Once the cap is in a fully closed position, the cam portion enables the body to shift somewhat closer to the container outlet in order to increase the compression of the gasket between the body and the outlet. Optionally, an orienting section is provided for insuring that the cap is coupled to the container in only one certain orientation, so that the likelihood of cross-contamination of material within the barrels due to residual material on the gasket is substantially reduced.
