摘要： This invention relates to an in-situ cleaning fixture for mist removal separator vane assemblies. The cleaning fixture includes an injection chamber with an inlet and a perforated plate which extends horizontally, substantially over the length of the mist removal separator vane assembly. A cleaning fluid source is connected to the injection chamber during a cleaning process. The injection chamber is designed to receive the cleaning fluid, pass the cleaning fluid through the holes formed in the plate, downwardly along a plurality of vanes in the mist removal separator vane assembly and into the drain trough. The in-situ cleaning fixture facilitates removal of scale build-up from the mist removal separator vane assembly and thereby restores the efficacy of the vanes.

摘要： The invention is an air filter for reducing the amount of particles in air. In the preferred form, the particles are odour particles. The air filter comprises two spaces disposed between an air inlet and an air outlet. Odorous air is drawn into the air filter and pre-treated in a first space, having air flow baffles and jets which both agitate and charge the air by a process of triboelectrification. In the second space the airstream impinges upon a number of spaced-apart baffles or structured layers. The odour particles in the air are attracted to the surfaces of the baffles and are removed by the action of the water flow. The air filter of the present invention can treat air from installations such as agricultural operations, air from apartment buildings, air from restaurants, factories and other industrial facilities, vehicle exhaust system and effluent ponds and is also applicable to removing other particles types such as pollen.

摘要： Sulfur oxides (SOx) are scrubbed from combustion effluents with aqueous limestone slurries with greater efficiency due to the use of an improved entrainment separator (130). In the preferred embodiment of a single-loop, counter-current limestone wet scrubber (100) (preferably with a spray-contacting zone of less than 6 meters in height) operating at bulk gas flow rates of greater than 4.5 meters per second, a vertical stream of flue gas is freed of a substantial portion of slurry droplets and diverted for effective mist removal by a well-drained, horizontal-flow mist eliminator (140). The entrainment separator (130) is a single-pass device with individual blades aligned for effective operation with reduced droplet impingement on the upper walls (e.g., roof) of the scrubber and to permit periodic washing. Use of a vertically-oriented, horizontal-shaft rotary heat exchanger (431) is facilitated and space and duct work requirements are greatly reduced.
