摘要： A balloon trocar includes a cannula assembly including a cannula and an outer sleeve fitting over the cannula. The distal end of the outer sleeve is proximal to the distal end of the cannula. A balloon is coupled to a distal portion of the sleeve and a distal portion of the cannula. The outer surface of the cannula includes a plurality of longitudinal channels for transmitting gas or fluid to the balloon. A bolster having a gel pad at its distal portion is slidably mounted to the cannula assembly and may be locked in a desired position. In use, the trocar is inserted into an incision through a body wall and into a body cavity. The balloon is inflated and the cannula assembly pulled proximally against the incision while the bolster is slid distally to the body wall and locked in place to seal the incision with the compressed balloon.

摘要： The present invention provides a wearable medical support for delivery of a treatment to the nose of a subject comprising: a nose mask formed from a heat moldable sheet of thermoplastic material, said nose mask comprises an aperture dimensioned to fit the nose of the subject, said aperture is flanked by two flaps whereby each flap is configured to be in contact with at least part of a lateral side of the nose; and a device configured to close fit said aperture, said device is provided at one end with an opening for receiving the nose and at the other end with at least one coupling suitable to be connected to one or more tubes for delivery of the treatment to the nose. The present invention further provides a sheet of heat moldable thermoplastic material for molding a mask directly on a subject's nose.

摘要： A multi-function oxygen mask is disclosed which generally comprises a mask body and a gas delivery adapter. The mask body forms an internal cavity configured to cover a nose and mouth of a patient. A nasal chamber is formed in the upper portion of the mask body, the nasal chamber includes an upper portion, a lower portion and a gas delivery adapter aperture adjacent the lower portion of the nasal chamber. An access aperture is formed through and adjacent to the lower portion of the mask body. The access aperture is configured to permit access to the mouth of a patient. The gas delivery adapter has a general tubular structure and includes a first end an opposing second end, the first end of the gas delivery adapter is coupled to the gas delivery adapter aperture. An oxygen supply port radially extends outward from the gas delivery adapter and adjacent to the first end of the gas delivery adapter. The oxygen supply port further includes an external inlet portion, an outlet portion positioned within a volumetric space of the gas delivery adapter and a diverter member adjacent to the outlet portion. The diverter member is configured to direct a flow towards the first end of the gas delivery adapter. A meter-dose inhaler port radially extends outward from the gas delivery adapter. Finally, the gas delivery adapter includes a meter-dose inhaler port and a nebulizer port.

摘要： A low profile adaptor is disclosed to reduce the length of a gastrostomy tube that has been inserted by means of conventional endoscopic procedures or with a replacement feeding tube inserted into the patient's stomach. The gastrostomy tube is cut to the appropriate length by the physician. The adaptor comprises a stem which is inserted into the open end of the gastrostomy tube. The valve assembly contains a seal that functions as a one-way valve to prevent reflux of gastric contents but permits the introduction of feeding solution into the feeding tube. A lock and key mechanism is incorporated into the hub of the gastrostomy tube to prevent disconnection of the feeding tube. A cover is placed over the opening of the adapter to prevent contamination of the lumen of the gastrostomy tube.

The stiffer sections resist migration and the more flexible or softer portions allow the tube to bend around the pyloris sphincter and into the jejunum. This also allows for a larger diameter feeding lumen than would otherwise be the case.
