摘要： An apparatus including a mesh portion having a bag structure with an open end and a closed end, and having an inner chamber enclosed within the bag structure is disclosed. The mesh portion may be made of a material which does not substantially absorb water and which is elastic. There is a large opening at the open end of the bag structure into which a bar of soap can be inserted to insert the bar of soap into the inner chamber of the bag structure. The mesh portion has a plurality of small openings through which parts of the bar of soap can escape from the inner chamber of the bag structure. The mesh portion may be configured so that the mesh portion automatically contracts to conform to the bar of soap as it diminishes in size with use. The mesh portion may be comprised of low density polyethylene extruded plastic.

A secondary function is the thrift and savings to be realized with the reservoir body constituting a piggy bank for retaining soap chips coming from almost spent soap bars fed into the slot. A third function is that the soap dispenser may be in the ornamental format of a toy, sports item or other novelty. The construction provides advantages as a readily manufactured item formed from two basic pieces secured together. The pieces are secured either adhesively or mechanically so that a simple sponge or equivalent and a rubbery resilient hand held pig, puppy or the like makes an attractive toy, which can be fueled with usually wasted soap chips.

When soap is no longer desired, the housing is moved to an upright position out of the path of the stream of water.

摘要： This invention is a container for holding and semi-automatically dispensing a bar of soap. The soap is placed in the container through an opening in the top. A pivotally connected enclosure positions the soap on a holding shelf and shelters the soap from direct and indirect contact with water. The shelf, which may have an open grid-like surface, has at least one drain, allowing water to drain from the soap and not pool and collect around the soap. When the soap is needed, the user mechanically operates the container. The enclosure pivots, pushing the soap semi-automatically to an exit opening, where the soap dispenses from the container into the hand of the user. The container may be used in any facility requiring the use of soap and particularly in bath tubs and showers. The container may be attached by a bracket to a wall or other mounting surface.
