    • An adjustable rod assembly includes first and second tubes having first and second arcuate portions, third and fourth tubes of generally straight configurations, first and second end supports, and a tension rod mechanism fixedly secured within the third tube. A first end of the first tube is telescopingly received within the third tube and a second end of the first tube is telescopingly received within the second tube. The third tube is rotatable relative to the first tube and is rotatably secured within the fourth tube. The fourth tube is secured to the first end support and the second tube is secured to the second end support. The tension rod mechanism rotates with the third tube and has a threaded portion configured to extend from an interior of the third tube to an interior of the first tube.

    • A spring-loaded adjustable window rack for hanging window treatments. A window rack is formed from a plurality of slide members, a plurality of multi-directional connectors, and at least one spring-loaded coupler, wherein the plurality of slide members is attached to each other by the plurality of multi-directional connectors. Each of the at least one spring-loaded couplers is attached in between a specific connector from the plurality of multi-directional connectors and a corresponding slide member from the plurality of slide members. By compressing the at least one spring the window rack can be slid into a window frame, wherein the spring force holds the window rack in place. A window treatment support can be attached to the window rack for creating three dimensional window treatment arrangements.

    • Embodiments of the invention relates to a motorized system for moving vertical blinds, curtains, draperies, or other window coverings. Specific embodiments can, optionally, also be manually operated. When motorized, the power supply can be batteries stored or housed in a tube or portion of a shaft, with a spring biased mechanism to assist during removal and/or loading of the batteries. In a specific embodiment, the stop can be triggered by the user to remove one battery at a time, and can allow the user to load batteries in a manner in which the battery or batteries already loaded in the chamber are held in the chamber. A specific embodiment incorporates a drapery tube with a hollow interior, or drapery shaft with one or more hollow portions, to form an enclosure that can house the motor and the power supply, such as batteries. If desired, the motor controls and an optional RF receiver for the motor can also be housed within the tube. In an embodiment, the batteries can be easily changed or replaced through the end of the tube or shaft, wherein the system has a stop, or release trigger, that can allow only one battery at a time to be loaded or unloaded, to assist in loading and unloading the batteries. In an embodiment, an end cap, such as a twist lock end cap can be positioned over the end of the tube or shaft when batteries are not being loaded or unloaded.

    • Embodiments of the subject invention relate to a method and apparatus for cutting one or more grooves in a cylindrical element. In specific embodiments, the one or more grooves are cut into an outer surface of the cylindrical element. The cylindrical element can be solid, or can have one or more hollow portions. In a specific embodiment, the cylindrical element is a hollow tube. Embodiments also pertain to a cylindrical element having one or more grooves cut in an outer surface of the cylindrical element. Further specific embodiments are directed to cylindrical elements having one or more grooves that can be utilized as a drapery or curtain tube, where the one or more grooves, in combination with rotation of the cylindrical element, can be used for moving the drapery to one or more positions along the tube, such as from an open position for the drapery or curtain to a closed position for the drapery or curtain, by engaging an interconnecting element between the drapery or curtain and the one or more grooves while rotating the tube.
