    • PURPOSE: A device for separating and transferring pie is provided to minimize the damages and defects generated during separation because of stably separating and transferring from a pan without contact of a worker. CONSTITUTION: A device for separating and transferring pie comprises a pan transfer unit(100), an inversion unit(200), a re-inversion unit(300), and a pie-transferring unit(400). The pan transferring unit transfers and supplies a pan(P) with a pie(B) cooked from an oven. The inversion unit clamping a tray(T) in the state covering the pan, and reveres and transfers the same. The re-inversion unit shakes off the pan and tray in order for pie to drop into the tray. The re-inversion unit clamps the tray after the inversion unit returns the pan by clamping the pan. The pie-transferring unit rotates in order to attach with the pie in the tray. The pie-transferring unit returns to original position by rotating with the re-inversion unit. The pie-transferring unit is separated from the tray, and transfers the pie settled on top side.

    • A conveyor (20) for transporting and inverting strap pans (22) or other pans used for baking. The conveyor includes a closed-loop drive chain (26) to which a number of pan cars (54) are pivotally attached. The pan cars are provided with magnetic bars (36) that create attractive force to hold the strap pans to the pan cars. The conveyor also includes an incline guide (204). When the conveyor is actuated, the pan cars run against the incline guide so as to cause the initial inversion of the pan cars. As the pans cars are inverted they abut against a positioning rail located along side of the drive chain. The positioning rail is shaped to control both the rate at which the pan cars are inverted from their normal upright position and then it is further shaped to force the pan cars to then return to their initial upright position. The inversion of the pan cars causes a like inversion of the strap pans secured to the pan cars. Thus, this conveyor is used to invert pans so as to employ gravity in order to foster the removal of debris from the pans.

    • A pan inverting apparatus comprises an input endless belt and an output endless belt, between which a revolving pan wheel is positioned. The pan wheel includes a plurality of transverse pan receivers opening radially outward to define the circumference thereof. Each pan to be inverted is guided into engagement with the input endless belt and against a movable stop. The stop is synchronized with rotation of the pan wheel to selectively release each pan for chambering into one of the pan receivers for rotation by the pan wheel. After approximately one-half revolution of the pan wheel, the inverted pans are individually engaged by the output endless belt for advancement out of the pan receivers. In the preferred embodiment, cushioning within the pan receivers helps to secure the pans and reduce noise. Preferably, magnets are located subjacent to the input and output endless belts to promote positive frictional engagement with the pans.
