    • Data coding apparatus and decoding apparatuses to encode and decode data at a high speed. A data coding apparatus provided with a code table in which ranks and codes are made corresponding so that a code length becomes larger as the rank becomes lower. A rank holding unit is stored with a corresponding relationship between the character and the rank relative to each context. When the character to be encoded is input, the rank holding unit outputs a rank of that character relative to the context at that time, and the code corresponding to the rank within the code table is output by the rank coding unit. The data coding apparatus is constructed to change the rank of the character used for outputting within the rank holding unit up to a higher rank.

    • A filter for an in-tank pump of an automobile fuel tank includes a flat bag-shaped filter body, a connector body and a suction nozzle. The filter body has a closed front end and a rear end wall and includes a mesh member and a filter frame having a plurality of longitudinal and lateral ribs formed on the upper and lower portions thereof. The connector body includes a cylindrical attachment for attaching the filter body to a suction port of an in-tank pump and an end plate joined to an outer surface of the rear end wall of the filter body. The suction nozzle is attached to the end plate of the connector body so that it communicates with the cylindrical attachment and thrusts into the filter body. The suction nozzle is made of a deformable material and formed into a mesh cylinder having a closed forward end disposed within the filter body at a position of the closed front end of the filter body.

    • A filling device for use in a bottling machine, which device is provided with a sealing member for closing the opening of a bottle, a filling tube for supplying the bottle with a filling liquid and an exhaust tube for discharging the air from the bottle to the outside during the filling operation. When the opening of the bottle is closed by the sealing member, the filling liquid is fed into the bottle through the filling tube and the air in the bottle is simultaneously discharged outside. The filling device is provided with a valve mechanism which receives the pressure of the air remaining in the bottle as an indication pressure when the filling liquid in the bottle blocks the lower end of the exhaust tube. The valve mechanism closes the exhaust tube or the filling tube when the indication pressure exceeds a predetermined value.
