    • An AC-type gas discharge display includes a base, discharge tubes which are arranged on the base in parallel to each other and which contain fluorescent phosphors, data electrodes formed on the external surfaces of the discharge tubes such that the data electrodes extend in the longitudinal direction of the discharge tubes, and display electrodes formed in pairs on the external surfaces of the discharge tubes at the opposite side of the data electrodes such that the display electrodes intersect the discharge tubes. Each of the discharge tubes has a flattened elliptical shape in cross-section thereof and includes a pair of flat portions. The data electrodes are formed on one of the flat portions and scanning electrodes and common electrodes are alternately arranged on the other one of the flat portions, and the discharge tubes are supported by the base at one or the other one of the flat portions.

    • A feedback controlled substrate bias generator having a substrate bias level sensing circuit, a charge pump circuit and an improved oscillator is disclosed. The substrate bias level sensing circuit is coupled to a semiconductor substrate for sensing a bias voltage of the semiconductor substrate and outputting a control signal in response to the sensed bias voltage. The charge pump circuit is coupled to the semiconductor substrate and the substrate bias level sensing circuit for receiving a clock pulse and the control signal and supplying the bias voltage to the semiconductor substrate in response to the received signals. The improved oscillator is coupled to the charge pump circuit for generating the clock pulse. The improved oscillator has a loop circuit having a plurality of serially and circularly coupled inverters each of which has a source terminal applied to voltage from a voltage source, an input terminal for receiving an input signal and an output terminal for outputting an output signal. The improved oscillator further has a plurality of switches each of which has a control terminal, a first terminal coupled to the source terminal of a corresponding inverter of the loop circuit and a second terminal coupled to the voltage source. Each of the switches electrically cuts the first and second terminals when the input signal of the one of the inverters except for the corresponding inverter changes from one level to another.

    • There is disclosed a cable having a covering layer on the outside of a multicore stranded wire composed of plural insulated conductors that are intertwined, wherein at least an outermost layer of the covering layer is made of a crosslinked product of a resin composition containing (a) 10 to 60% by weight of a polyamide elastomer made up of a block copolymer whose hard segment is a polyamide, (b) 5 to 60% by weight of a thermoplastic polyurethane resin, (c) 10 to 60% by weight of a thermoplastic polyester elastomer, and (d) 0 to 20% by weight of a thermoplastic styrene elastomer. The airtightness and the watertightness at the interface between the cable and a molded body are kept for extended periods without taking any particular sealing measures. The corrosion of the conductors in the cable and the deterioration of the performance of the connected parts of machinery and tools can be prevented, and the cable has excellent water resistance.

An internal valve chamber which is in communication with the primary side is formed on the back side of the main valve.
