The adjustment is made in response to at least one indication, wherein the contents of the at least one indication are based, at least in part, on the fact that the first transceiver uses the first and second receiver processing algorithms to process the first and second portions of the signal. The at least one indication could be transmitted from the first transceiver, or it could be determined through evaluations carried out at the second transceiver.

摘要： A method performed by a mobile communication unit (10) when operating in stand-by mode in a wireless cellular communication network. The receiver is activated in periods of relatively short duration (τ 0 ) to receive paging indicators (21) from the serving base station (20) and to receive identifying signals from the remote base station (30). After the first period a likelihood is assessed that a remote cell has been detected, and following the first period the receiver is activated in a second period of a duration (τ 1 ) depending on the assessed likelihood. If a remote cell has likely been detected, the second duration is longer than the first duration. Most of its stand-by time the mobile terminal will not detect a new cell, and most of the periods with the receiver activated will therefore be of the short first duration, the power consumption of the receiver will be correspondingly reduced, and the stand-by time is correspondingly increased.

The mobile station also includes second detecting means adapted, when the quality of said received blocks of information bits is above a given level, to detect information bits from said distorted information bits using fewer computation resources than said first detecting means.
The invention also relates to a method of transmitting electronic information and to a communications system.
It is a major advantage according to the invention that the use of fewer computation resources - as a result of using less complex detection means (when possible) - enables a mobile station to receive information at a higher data rate. Thereby, a higher data throughput can be achieved for the user.

摘要： A sequence of received signals is identified, by a receiver of signals transmitted via a channel of a wireless communications system, as one of a number of known orthogonal sequences. The sequence of received signals is received (103); a modified sequence is calculated (105) by replacing some of the received signals by their complex conjugate values; the modified sequence is correlated (106) with each one of the number of known orthogonal sequences to obtain a correlation result for each of the known sequences; and the sequence of received signals is identified (107) as the known sequence having the largest correlation result. When some signals in the received sequence are complex conjugated before being correlated with the known sequences, the correlation sum will increase so that even in case of a considerable frequency error the correlation sum for the correct sequence will be sufficiently large to be distinguished from noise.

摘要： A method of a transceiver arranged to operate in a cellular communication system comprising cells is disclosed. The method comprises receiving a transmission from a first cell; determining an interfering signal and its occupation in time and/or frequency; determining reduced values in the received signal corresponding to the occupation in time and/or frequency of the interfering signal; and measuring a quotient between desired signal and non-desired signal of reference symbols of the received signal. A channel quality index, CQI, is formed taking into account reduction of values performed at the reducing, and the CQI is reported to the communication system. A transceiver and computer program for the same are also disclosed.
