    • A punch holder apparatus includes: a punch holder formed with a punch mounting hole and with an inspection hole in a direction perpendicular to a longitudinal direction of the punch holder; an engagement piece to be mounted in the inspection hole; a lock piece formed with a receiving allowable concave section to receive the engagement piece; and pressurizing means for pressurizing the lock piece so that an engagement piece pushing-out holding section provided to the lock piece is normally located in a position corresponding to the engagement piece. In the above construction, the lock piece is provided so as to be capable of moving in a direction parallel to the longitudinal direction of the punch holder. Furthermore, the receiving allowable concave section receives the engagement piece which is moved in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the punch holder.

    • A method of estimating irregular wear of pneumatic tires, in which a deformable paint is coated on the tire tread surface in a regular manner. The wearing degree of the paint is recorded as a plurality of image information at regular time intervals, while running the tire under a loaded condition. A predetermined portion of the respective image information is divided into a number of pixels. Weights are applied to the respective pixels corresponding to painted potions, respectively, such that each weight is inversely proportional to the duration of time during which the paint has been worn. Wear information for the painted portion is converted into a wide range wear information which also covers the respective pixels for the non-painted portion, by calculating the wear level values of the respective pixels including the non-painted portion in view of the weight of the pixels and weights of the periphery pixels. The wear level values are mapped and the mapped information is used to estimate irregular wear occurring state on the tread surface.

    • A burr removing method includes: pressing, by using a work pressing device (7), the upper surface of a work (W) around a work edge (WE), along which a burr occurs, so as to be relatively freely movable, the work (W) held on a work table in a plate material processing machine so as to be freely movable in X- and Y-axis directions; when the work (W) relatively moves with respect to the work pressing device (7) in the X- and Y-axis directions, vibrating a striker (35) vertically, the striker (35) provided at a position below the work pressing device (7) so as to be freely vertically movable; and, when the striker (35) moves upward, crushing the burr. A burr removing device includes: a freely vertically movable striker (35) equipped with a burr striking portion (33) at the upper end thereof for striking a burr from the lower side and provided on a base member (29) attachable to and detachable from a work table or a die holder (5) in the plate material processing machine; and a vertical movement actuator being used for vertically moving the striker (35) and provided on the base member (29) or in a burr removing unit (37) equipped with the striker (35).
