The device comprises a look-up table for providing a first variable m and a second variable J satisfying the equation N=2m×J; and an address generator for generating a read address depending on the first and second variables m and J provided from the look-up table. The read address is determined by 2m(K mod J)+BROm(K/J), where K (0≦K≦(N-1)) denotes a reading sequence, BROm(y) is the bit-reversed m-bit value of y and/is a function in which a quotient of K divided by d is obtained, the quotient being an integer.

摘要： An interleaver for a serial concatenated convolutional code (SCCC) encoder is disclosed. The interleaver has a memory with m row groups and n column groups, and the memory stores serial input symbols in the groups. The interleaver randomly selects one of the m row groups, then randomly selects one of the positions in the selected row, then outputs the symbol stored in the selected position in the selected row so as to generate interleaved symbols. The SCCC encoder includes a component encoder for encoding the interleaved symbols from the interleaver. The encoded codes of the component encoder have an effective free distance. When the number of the serial input symbols is k, the m row groups and n column groups in the memory are chosen such that m×n≧k, and m is larger than the effective free distance.

A maximum value detector detects at least three values and their corresponding offsets in descending order among auto-correlation values calculated within a specific frequency offset range between a received signal and a predefined symbol. A frequency offset corrector compares a ratio of a first auto-correlation value to a second auto-correlation value with a predetermined first threshold, determines whether first and second frequency offsets corresponding to the first and second auto-correlation values are adjacent to each other if the ratio of the auto-correlation values is less than the first threshold, and determines an initial carrier frequency offset using a difference between the first frequency offset and a frequency offset correction value determined according to system, if the first and second frequency offsets are adjacent to each other and a ratio of the second auto-correlation value and a third auto-correlation value is greater than a predetermined second threshold.
