    • The invention relates to a valet-parking system for automatically bringing a vehicle (10) to a parking space (24') within a predefined parking area (20). Said valet-parking system comprises a central control unit (15) and a parking space monitoring system with at least one stationary parking place sensor (30). Said parking space monitoring system is designed, to detect, in particular continuously, the current occupancy state of the parking space (24) of the parking area (20) and to transfer said current occupancy state to the central control unit. Additionally or alternatively, the parking space monitoring system is designed, to localize all autonomously driven or waiting vehicles (10) which are currently autonomously in transit within the parking area, to either bring said vehicles to their allocated parking space or to, for example, deliver said vehicles to a predetermined pick-up point by the driver, and to transfer information relating to the current position of all of said vehicles to the central control unit (15). According to the invention, the allocation of a free parking space (24') to the vehicle (10) by means of the central control unit (15) is dependent on geometrical measurements, in particular the height, of the vehicle (10).
