摘要： This invention is directed to coated water-swellable materials, typically solid, particulate, water-swellable materials, i.e. materials that comprise hydrogel-forming polymers, whereof at least a part is coated with a coating, which substantially does not break when the polymers swell, as set out in th e method herein. Said coating is present at a level of at least 1% by weight o f the water-swellable material. The coating comprises preferably an elastomeri c polymeric material. The invention also relates products, e.g. disposable absorbent articles, comprising such coated water-swellable material.

摘要： An absorbent core is provided which is useful for an absorbent article. The core comprises a substrate layer, comprising a first surface and a second surface. The core further comprises a discontinuous layer of absorbent material, comprising a first surface and a second surface. The absorbent material comprises an absorbent polymer material, and optionally an absorbent fibrous material representing less than 40 weight percent, preferably not representing more than 20 weight percent of the total weight of the absorbent polymer material. The core further comprises a layer of thermoplastic material, the layer of thermoplastic material comprising a first surface and a second surface. The second surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material is in at least partial contact with the first surface of the substrate layer, portions of the second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with the first surface of the substrate layer, and portions of the second surface of the layer of thermoplastic material are in direct contact with the first surface of the discontinuous layer of absorbent material.

Adicionalmente, la capa de distribucion de líquido comprende material que tiene una Altura de Absorcion por Sorcion Capilar a 30% de su capacidad máxima (CSAH 30) de por lo menos 35 cm. Un material de distribucion particularmente adecuado para la presente invencion puede ser materiales espumosos, preferiblemente espuma polimérica derivada de emulsiones agua-en-aceite de alta fase interna.
