    • PURPOSE:To enable thorough removal of a covering from an optical fiber core even at a relatively wide space between blade edges by holding elastically the optical fiber core and exerting removing force to the covering by the inclined blade surfaces thereby preventing buckling deformation of the core and the positional deviation of the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:When the end of an optical fiber core A to be removed of a covering 2 is positioned to the side of elastic bodies 71, 72 and when an upper member 51 and a lower member 52 are pressed to each other, the side face of the covering is supported by the bodies 71, 72 are therefore the covering is hardly buckled and deformed. While the force for removing the covering is exerted to the core A by pulling the core, compressive stress is applied to the slopes 91a, 92a of blades 81, 82 perpendicularly to said faces and the axial component (fx) thereof generates shearing stress to the surface of the fiber 1, thereby stripping the covering 2. The compressive stress component (fy) acting perpendicularly to the surface of the fiber 1 increases sharply when the blade edges approach to the fiber 1 surface to act in such a way that the fiber 1 parts from the blade edges. The covering 2 is thus cleanly removed without damage on the fiber 1.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a tag from moving as much as possible, suppressing an increase in tightening force by the tag without hindering a mounting work of the tag on a communication line by making a part of a through hole of the tag have a small diameter and making an upper limit of the inner diameter smaller than a lower limit of outer diameter allowance of the communication line by a specified range. SOLUTION: An upper limit of an inner diameter of a tag is made smaller than a lower limit of outer diameter allowance of a communication line by 1/100 to 3/100 mm. In a discrimination tag 11, a through hole 12 of an inner diameter 1.1 mm is provided on a polyethylene plane plate. An outer diameter of a communication line 3 is 1.0 mm and a left end part of the through hole 12 is made a small diameter part 13 in the range of a length of 3 mm. Because most of the through hole 12 of the tag is larger than the outer diameter of the communication line 3, a mounting work on the communication line 3 is not hindered. Because a part of the through hole 12 is smaller than a minimum diameter of the communication line 3, the communication line 3 is elastically gripped. A dimensional difference of a minimum diameter of the through hole 12 for a maximum diameter of the communication line 3 is larger than 1/100 to 3/100 mm, but a length to be tightened is a part of the through hole 12 and lowering of transmission efficiency can be neglected.
