摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a piezoelectric characteristic caused by adhesion between a pressure sensitive layer an electrode, namely, a contact resistance (stray capacity). SOLUTION: This sensor has a formation in which a pressure sensitive layer 2 of a slurry state is coated thinly on the surface of the flexible electrode 1. By this formation, a pressure sensitive body is not required to be formed on another sheet as a green sheet, therefore, manufacturing is simplified to realize this pressure sensitive sensor which has strong adhesion between the pressure sensitive body and the electrode 1.

SOLUTION: Since the flexible piezoelectric element has a second compound piezoelectric body 6 where a plurality of flat-plate-shaped piezoelectric ceramics 1 are arranged in a first compound piezoelectric body 5 that is made of piezoelectric ceramic powder 4 and a macromolecular base material 2, and electrodes 3a and 3b that are arranged on both the surfaces of the second compound piezoelectric body 6 while the first compound piezoelectric body 5 is arranged between the flat-plate-shaped piezoelectric ceramics 1 and one of the electrodes, the piezoelectric element can be manufactured by such a simple manufacturing method as the press method. Also, the area of the element can be increased easily.

Thereby, the charges caused by the pyroelectric effect are quickly lost.

When an object M is inserted between a window frame 7 and a window glass 8, the pressure sensing means 9 abuts on the object M to compress a supporting part 13, and an air gap part 15 is crushed to largely deform a pressure sensing part 14. In this way, because a large deformed quantity is obtained by a pressure sensing part 14, acceleration as a secondary differentiated value of the deformed quantity becomes large, and the output signal of the pressure sensing part becomes large. Consequently, the signal component at insertion and the signal component by external vibration or electric noise can be clearly discriminated.

The window frame 6 as the contacting member forms an opening/closing part by the window glass 1 and the window frame 6. In this configuration, when the object touches the detection sensor 8, the detection sensor 8 is distorted and a voltage is generated according to the distortion. The generated voltage signal is converted by the impedance conversion part of a contact detection means, thus judging the contact of the object based on a filtering signal from a filtering part.

Thus, the driver maintains the hands on the steering 1 constantly so as to be safe, and precise control which is impossible for a contact type switch is ensured. For example, it is possible to control the controlled object at will by changing the load (pressure) in gripping the steering 1, and thus many experiences in operation are not necessary and the usability is improved.
