摘要： In an optical disk having information recording tracks in the form of land and groove tracks, the disk is divided into a plurality of annular zones, each revolution of the information recording track belongs to one of the zones, and each revolution of the information recording track is divided into a plurality of sectors. A header portion is provided at the head of each sector and includes multiple recognition patterns which are each formed of a sequence of pits. A recognition pattern has a pattern which is not used as a pattern for data or addresses in the information recording part. The disk may be of a land/groove single-spiral configuration. The header portion for each sector may have a plurality of sub-headers, including an address of the sector, and first and second recognition patterns. The address of the sector and the first recognition pattern may be shifted in one radial direction by half a track pitch and the second recognition pattern shifted in the other radial direction by half a track pitch.

摘要： In an optical disk drive apparatus for recording data on and reproducing data from an optical disk using both of data recording tracks formed of grooves and lands, is divided into an integer number of sectors, and the address data area of each sector is shifted in the radial direction. When a first sector is scanned, a data from the address data area of the first sector is read as a first direct address data, and a data from the address data area of an adjacent sector is read as a second direct address data. A first modified address data of the first sector is produced by modifying the second direct address data with an inter-track address difference, and a correct address value of the first sector is produced using the first direct address data and the first modified address data.

摘要： In a system in which DVD contents authored in the past is to be downloaded and saved into a recording disk, such DVD contents are authored in such manner that they can be recorded into the recording disk without being re-authored, and copyright protection of the downloaded DVD contents can be strengthened. In this system, a disk image file is produced including data to be handled as main data among sectors, and header information of each of the sectors. The data of the DVD contents is divided into packets of a transport stream, and identification codes for the content and for a distribution destination of the content are added to each of the packets, thus enabling identification on a basis of the individual sectors. In a recording apparatus, the DVD contents can be recorded into a large-capacity optical disk or a hard disk based on these identification codes.

The BCA recording device for optical discs records, on the BCA on an optical disc, identifying information unique to the optical disc. The BCA recording device is provided with: a BCA data generating section which generates BCA mark signals and BCA code signals which indicate the identifying information; a BCA mark generating section which, based on the BCA mark signals, generates BCA marks by recording marks on the recording film in the BCA on the optical disc, thereby partially changing the reflectance of the recording film; and a BCA code generating section which, based on the BCA code signals, generates BCA codes by partially removing the recording film on the BCA.
