    • The present invention provides an economical method for the processing of silver halide color photographic materials comprising fixing or bleach-fixing of the material followed by the washing thereof with a small amount of a washing replenisher. The present method is characterized in that the silver halide color photographic material to be processed contains at least one cyan dye-forming coupler of the following formula (I) or (II) and that the amount of the washing replenisher in the washing step falls within the range of 30 to 50 times of the amount of the processing solution carried over from a previous bath based on the unit area of the photographic material being processed, ##STR1## wherein, R.sub.1 represents --CONR.sub.5 R.sub.6, --NHCOR.sub.5, --NHCOOR.sub.7, --NHSO.sub.2 R.sub.7, --NHCONR.sub.5 R.sub.6 or --NHSO.sub.2 NR.sub.5 R.sub.6 ;R.sub.2 represents a substituent on the naphthol ring;m is an integer of 0 to 3;R.sub.3 represents a mono-valent organic group;R.sub.4 represents a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group;X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released by the coupling reaction with an oxidized aromatic primary amine developing agent;R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 each represents a hydrogen atom, an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group;R.sub.7 represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group;when m is a plural number in the formula, R.sub.2 's may be the same or different or may be bonded to each other to form a ring; andR.sub.2 and R.sub.3, or R.sub.3 and X may be bonded to each other to form a ring.According to the present method, the thermal discoloration of cyan dyes may be prevented and the stability with lapse of time thereof may be improved, and the amount of the washing solution to be used in the washing step may be noticeably reduced.

    • An automatic focusing camera is equipped with an automatic subject distance detecting device for detecting which of a plurality of predetermined distances is nearest to that at which the subject lies. A lens positioning member adjusts an objective lens to a suitable focusing position in which the objective lens has a depth of field straddling that nearest predetermined distance detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. Another lens positioning member adjusts the objective lens to a focusing position in which the objective lens will be focused on a subject, such as a landscape, at infinity, independently of the distances detected by the automatic subject distance detecting device. The latter objective lens positioning member is externally operable when it is intended to photograph a subject at infinity, before depressing the shutter button.

    • A control device, adapted to automatically insert a proper correcting filter in a photographing light path dependent upon the color balance of the film used and the type of lighting conditions, is disclosed. Three signals are developed indicating, respectively, that the illuminating light is sunlight, incandescent light, and fluorescent light. The different types of light are detected by a pair of discriminators, one of which is based upon spectral content and the other of which is based on the presence of flicker. Incandescent light is distinguished from the other types of light by its unique spectral characteristic. Sunlight is distinguished from the other types by the absence of an a.c. flicker in such light. The three signals are applied to a mechanism which inserts the filters. A switching means is provided in-between the latter three signals and the filters so that the set of filters connected to be responsive to the three signals depends upon the color balance of the film used.
