    • PURPOSE: To provide a display device capable of displaying desired characters, graphics and figures on a passage by adjusting the quantity of transmitted light with an EA fluid (electricity-sensitive optical functional fluid). CONSTITUTION: The EA fluid 16 contg. an EA grain (electric field-arranged grain) in an electrical insulating medium 19 having a higher sp.gr. than the grain is stored in a hollow housing 18. Transparent conducting layers 17' and 17'' are formed on the vertically opposed faces of the housing 18. The lower transparent conductive layer 17' is formed to cover almost the entire transparent part of the housing 18. The upper transparent conductive layer 17'' consists of a regular-shaped or irregular-shaped linear conductor 17a' and a regular- shaped or irregular-shaped linear conductor 17b' of the opposite pole arranged adjacent to the conductor 17a'. Accordingly, when a current is applied between the conductors 17a' and 17b', the space between both conductors becomes opaque, hence a part of the housing 18 is made opaque, and the character, etc., can be displayed.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a multiplex transmitter in which the number of components for a storage circuit and a comparator circuit built in a multiplex unit is reduced. CONSTITUTION:In the multiplex transmitter provided with a multiplex unit TX which connects to switches A-C used to drive and control various electric units in the transmitter, detects the on/off state of each switch for a predetermined period and transmits data obtained by digitally multiplexing the result of defection and with a multiplex unit RX' which connects to the unit TX via a multiplex transmission line N, connects to plural drive sections driving various electric units, collates adjacent data received from the unit TX for a predetermined number of times and provides an output to turn on/off each drive section only when the results of collation are coincident with each other, each of integration circuits SC each comprising a resistor (R1-R3) and a capacitor (C1-C3) is interposed between an output terminal (a-c) and each drive section, the resistance and the capacitance of the integration circuits are determined based on the number of times of collation of received data, and the received data are collected based on the state change of discharge and charging of the integration circuits SC.
