    • Embodiments of the present disclosure include medical devices and methods including a medical device including: an elongate core element, and a generally tubular torsion element surrounding the core element and capable of transmitting torque along its length. The torsion element has a spiral incision that has a proximal end and a distal end. The spiral incision forms a helically coiled strip between the proximal and distal ends of the spiral incision. The helically coiled strip varies in width from the proximal end of the spiral incision to the distal end of the spiral incision and has a narrowest portion. The helically coiled strip bows radially outward at the narrowest portion when the helically coiled strip in the torsion element is unwound.

    • The invention is a folding locket which can take the form of an oblong or cylindrical locket, and can be folded into a generally heart shaped locket. In either of these configurations, oblong or heart, the locket can be opened by rotating the two halves of the locket apart. When the two halves of the locket are rotated apart, a picture, hidden on each side of the locket becomes visible; thus, opening the locket makes visible two pictures which can be selected by the user. The pictures displayed in the mounting are mounted in the position which spans the fold line of the locket.

    • An assembly for deploying a stranded support structure implant within a bone cavity to support the bone which defines the cavity comprises a support structure implant and an insertion tool. The support structure implant is formed from interlaced wires which extend from a first end of the structure towards an opposite second end. The structure flares outwardly from the first end to a maximum transverse dimension at a wide point between the first and second ends, and tapers inwardly between the wide point and the second end to a constant cross-section throat portion at the second end. The structure includes (i) a clip for controlling the spacing between the wires at the first end of the structure, in which the clip carries one of a spigot and a socket, and (ii) a ring clamp at the second end to retain the wires at the second end, in which the ring clamp has at least one clamp engagement formation. The insertion tool includes a probe end which carries the other of a spigot and a socket, so that the probe end and the clip can engage one another by means of the cooperating spigot and socket. An actuator moves the probe end relative to the tool engagement portion to cause the length of the implant to increase and its width to decrease.
