    • PURPOSE:To reduce running cost, by providing a recording body consisting of a porous membrane layer impregnated with heat-meltable ink, a porous layer base provided thereon, and a means for applying heat to the surface of the recording body according to a pattern. CONSTITUTION:A signal from the outside is sent to a heat generating part 4 to selectively allow heat generators 5 arranged in an arrays form to generate heat, and the heat is conducted to a porous membrane layer 1b and a porous base 1a of the recording body 1 contacted with a heat generating part 4 to lower the viscosity of the ink 2 infiltrated in said membrane layer 1b. The ink 2 having a lowered viscosity permeates the porous membrane layer 1b to form an ink image having a predetermined shape according to the heating part of the heat generating part 4. Next, the recording body 1 rotates and moves in the direction shown by an arrow and, before the ink is solidified in the downward direction, the ink image formed on the porous membrane layer 1b is contacted with the recording body 1 and transferred to a recording medium 3 pressed by a platen roller 6 at a position opposed to said recording body 1 to form an image on the recording medium 3.

    • PURPOSE:To record a sharp image, by a method wherein a predetermined heat generator is allowed to generate heat according to image information on the basis of an external signal and the viscosity of the ink in an ink sump provided in the vicinity of said heat generator is lowered and the ink is transferred to a recording medium while the ink is replenished to the ink sump from an ink supply system. CONSTITUTION:When a voltage is applied between each signal electrode 7 and each scanning electrode 5 according to image information on the basis of a signal from the outside through each signal brush 13 and a scanning brush 11, the largest current flows to the intersecting part of both electrodes 5, 7. The heat generator 6 at said intersecting part generates heat, and the viscosity of ink 18 of an ink sump 8 provided on the heat generator 6 is lowered and the ink is transferred to a recording medium 2 to form an image on the recording medium 2. Since no sufficient current flows to the heat generator 6 of the ink sump 8 of a non-recording part receiving no signal from the outside, the ink 18 of said ink sump 8 holds high viscosity as it is and, no ink is transferred to the recording medium 2.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of trailing or fog in an image, by forming a recording head so that a heat generating body may generate heat corresponding to an image signal and the ink in a housing is supplied to an ink sump through an ink passing hole and reduced in its viscosity to be transferred to a medium to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:An insulating substrate 4 and a heat generating body 5 comprising ruthenium oxide (RuO2) are provided to a part of a housing 2. At first, when a voltage pulse is applied to the heat generating body 5 through an electrode 7, the semisolid ink 3 in vicinity of the heat generating body 5 is heated. Said ink has a high viscosity at ambient temp. but when heated, it passes through ink passing holes 6 because its viscosity is reduced, and it spreads in the ink sump 9 and radiates heat at this time to again return to the semisolid state. Next, when voltage is applied to the heat generating body 5 corresponding to an image signal, said heat generating body 5 selectively generates heat and the semisolid ink 3 is lowered in its viscosity by said heat to be released from the ink sump 9 and transferred to recording paper 10. Therefore, trailing or fog is hard to generate in the transferred image and a sharp image can be recorded.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the trailing of images of fogging from occurring and record clear images, by transferring an ink contained in an ink reservoir onto a recording medium through lowering the viscosity of the ink, and replenishing the ink contained in a housing into the ink reservoir through an ink-passing hole. CONSTITUTION:With a voltage pulse applied to a heat generating element 4 through electrodes 6, the element 4 generates heat, thereby heating a semi-solid ink 3 in the vicinity of the element 4. The ink has a high viscosity and can not flow through an ink-passing hole 5 at normal temperature, but when it is heated, the viscosity thereof is lowered to permit it to flow through the hole 5. The ink 3 having flowed through the hole 5 spreads into an ink reservoir 8, and due to the attendant release of heat, the ink is returned into the semi- solid state or a nearly semi-solid state. Next, with a voltage applied to the heat-generating elements 4 according to an image signal, the elements 4 selectively generate heat, whereby the semi-solid ink 3 in the ink reservoir 8 is lowered in viscosity, is released from the ink reservoir 8, and is transferred onto a recording paper 9 fed in the direction of an arrow (b).

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a recorder capable of visualizing recorded images without any contamination therein, forming images with favorable contrast and capable of being easily adapted for color recording, by providing at least a recording part for forming the image of a releasable ink according to an image signal on an image support member incompatible with the ink. CONSTITUTION:An image support member 1 incompatible with a releasable ink, a driving means 2 for moving the image support member 1, a recording part 4 for forming an image of the ink according to an image signal on the image support member 1, and a display part 5 for permitting visual confirmation of the surface of the image support member 1 are provided. For example, the image support member 1 in the form of a loop form belt is fitted between a driving roller 2 rotated by a motor and a driven roller 3, and is circulatively moved in the direction of an arrow (a) as the driving roller 2 is rotated. The recording part 4 is disposed on one side of and in the vicinity of the image support member 1, while the display part 5 is provided on the other side of and in the vicinity of the member 1. An ink image according to the image signal is formed on the image support member 1 by the recording part 4, and the ink image can be visually confirmed at the display part 5.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a phenomenon by which a display state is inverted to other display state in the course of scanning for writing one picture, by setting the maximum pulse width of a voltage waveform which is applied continuously to a picture element on a scan electrode line to which a scan non-selecting signal is applied, to 2 times or 2.5 times of a pulse at the time of writing. CONSTITUTION:The titled element is provided with an electric signal having the first phase t1 having a voltage for applying an electric field in one direction so that a liquid crystal is oriented in the first stable state by a scan electrode by which a liquid crystalement having a ferroelectric liquid crystal having at least two stable states against an electric field, and an electric signal of the signal electrode, and the third phase t3 having a voltage for assisting to orient again the liquid crystal to the second stable state in accordance with the electric signal of the signal electrode. Also, in the second phase t2, the titled element is driven by applying an electric signal having the voltage polarity being opposite to that of an electric signal which has been applied to the first phase t1, based on prescribed information, to a signal electrode group. The voltage waveform is 2V0, and -2V0, in case of a phase (time) t1 and t2, and in case of t3, respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain an image excellent in contrast with a small quantity of heat, by constructing the device of a movable image-forming sheet which is varied from a transparent state to a non-transparent state by heating, a heating means for conducting recording on the sheet, and a dark-color fixed plane provided at a position opposite to the image-forming sheet in a display element. CONSTITUTION:An image-forming sheet 4 has a high-molecular recording material layer superposed on a substrate of polyethylene terephthalate or the like. This high- molecular recording material is formed of a thin layer of stable blended polymers of two kinds or more, and it is stretched in the shape of an endless belt between a driving roller 2 and a follower roller 3 and driven thereby intermittently. An image thereon is transparent (transmittance is 90% or above) at normal temperatures and it turns to be non-transparent (transmittance is 10% or below) by heating and subsequent rapid cooling. In order to vary the non-transparency of the image-forming sheet efficiently by a heating means, heat-absorbing black substances 5 and 5a fixed in a opposition to the heating means are provided in contact with the image-forming sheet 4. The heat-absorbing black substance 5 is formed by coating a metal plate with a material which is prepared by dispersing a black pigment such as carbon black, for instance, in polyethylene terephthalate or the like.
