    • A circuit comprising a gate driver including first and second switching stages for driving respective sync and control switches, at least one of which is a normally ON depletion mode device, and another circuit connected to the first and second switching stages and including first and second circuits. The first circuit is coupled to the first switching stage and to the sync switch, the first switching stage having a first state wherein the sync switch is on, and a second state wherein a first bias voltage is switched to the gate of the sync switch to turn it off. The second circuit has a first state wherein the control switch is on when the sync switch is off, and a second state wherein the control switch is switched off when the sync switch is on by switching a second bias voltage to the gate of the control switch.

    • A system for designing a free form reflector includes a user input interface (1), a free form reflector design unit (2), and a free form reflector output unit (3). The user input interface is configured for receiving various data associated with a desired free form reflector, via an input device. The free form reflector design unit is installed in a computer and configured for generating an optimum free form surface according to the input data by performing a non-uniform rational basis splines (NURBS) algorithm, a merit evaluation function, and a differential evolution (DE) algorithm. The free form reflector output module is configured for generating a free form reflector according to the optimum free form surface and outputting the free form reflector, in the form of a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing, to a display and/or a printer. A related method is also disclosed.

    • In one embodiment, a corrosion inhibiting composition is formed by combining: (a) an inorganic phosphate; (b) a water soluble polyelectrolyte polymer dispersant; (c) a tri or tetracarboxylic acid; and (d) at least one additional component comprising at least one of a C4-C22 aliphatic or aromatic mono- or dicarboxylic acid, a silicate and at least one of a silicone or a silicate stabilizing siloxane compound, and mixtures thereof. Also disclosed are heat transfer fluids that include about 5% to about 99% by weight of freezing point-depressing agent; about 1% to about 95% by weight of water; and the disclosed corrosion inhibitor composition. A method of reducing corrosion in a heat transfer system containing one or more components that contain magnesium or a magnesium alloy requires that the system and the magnesium containing components be in contact with the disclosed heat transfer fluid.

    • An apparatus and method for dynamically allocating resources across multiple virtual machines. The method monitors the activities of the applications in each virtual machine running on a hosting server, determines the activities of the applications in each virtual machine based on the activities of the monitored applications, prioritizes each virtual machine based on the determined priorities of the applications in each virtual machine, and dynamically adjusts the resource allocation of each virtual machine on the hosting server based on the priority of each virtual machine. The resources of the hosting server can be dynamically allocated to each virtual machine according to the real-time resource requirement of the active applications, and the applications of different virtual machines can negotiate the resource allocation on the hosting server.
