摘要： Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate silence interval specification and utilization in wireless communications. In particular, a silence interval can be defined such that communications cease during the interval, defined by an interval period, offset within the interval period, and duration; the communication can be that of mobile devices to base stations in a wireless communication network. In this regard, base stations can measure thermal noise during the silence to set a interference over thermal (IoT) level in one example. Additionally, other systems and networks can use the silence intervals to transmit, such as public safety devices and/or peer-to-peer communication. The wireless mobile devices can receive the silence interval information and appropriately blank out communications during the defined period.

摘要： Systems and methods that facilitate management of interference and communication resources are provided. A differential approach is devised in which other-sector interference (OSI) and communication resources are managed by adjusting an offset (delta) value associated with the resources in response to receiving an indication of other-sector interference. An OSI indication can be issued based on a short and a long time scale, and effective interference metrics over time-frequency resources. The adjusted delta value is communicated to a serving access point, which reassigns communication resources in order to mitigate other-sector interference.

The physical control channel can have a corresponding Walsh space for transmitting a number of bits, or representations thereof, and the Walsh space can be divided among the logical control channels. Additionally, the logical control channels and/or physical channel can be scrambled according to an identifier of a mobile device (such as MAC ID) to differentiate the data on the channel. Furthermore, a sector identifier can be used to scramble the data where the sector is ascertainable.

摘要： Techniques to transmit pilot on a CDMA segment on the reverse link in a wireless communication system are described. A terminal generates a scrambling sequence based on its pilot information. The pilot information may be used for the entire duration of a call by the terminal and for all sectors with which the terminal communicates during the call. The terminal generates pilot symbols based on the scrambling sequence, maps the pilot symbols to the CDMA segment, generates OFDM symbols with the mapped pilot symbols, and sends the OFDM symbols to one or more sectors. A base station processes received OFDM symbols to obtain received symbols for the CDMA segment. The base station generates the scrambling sequence based on the pilot information for the terminal and processes the received symbols with the scrambling sequence to obtain at least one parameter (e.g., received signal strength) for the terminal.
