    • A thermoelectric module includes: a plurality of thermoelectric elements that is electrically series-connected via a plurality of electrodes; and a pair of substrates on which the plurality of electrodes are formed on facing surfaces of the pair of substrates, the pair of substrates being provided perpendicularly to a heat transfer direction with the plurality of thermoelectric elements being interposed. An electrode of an upper substrate includes a first electrode having a size enough to electrically connect the thermoelectric elements that are spaced apart from each other by a distance corresponding to an area equivalent to an adjacent pair of the thermoelectric elements. An electrode of a lower substrate is provided correspondingly to a maximum placement number of the thermoelectric elements interposed between the substrates, and also has a size enough to electrically connect the adjacent pair of the thermoelectric elements.

    • The present invention provides a barrier unit, of which the blades can be opened fully.The barrier unit is designed to be attached to a camera in order to protect the lens of the camera and is ready to open or close as needed. The barrier unit includes: a base with a cylindrical portion; a first ring, which is arranged so as to rotate around the cylindrical portion; and first and second blades, which are interlocked with the first ring and which are gradually opened and closed as the first ring rotates. When one of the first and second blades is fully opened, the first ring is further movable to turn the other blade in a closing direction.

    • Thermoelectric elements are arranged with a high density in a peripheral region surrounding a center region or in an outer circumferential region of an opposing surface of a substrate instead of being arranged in the center region of the opposing surface. As compared to the case when the thermoelectric elements are arranged in the center of the opposing surface, when the thermoelectric elements are arranged in the region excluding the center region of the opposing surface, the thermoelectric element serving as a reference point of warp is positioned at an outer circumference side, i.e., the distance between the warp reference point and the outer circumference of the substrate becomes shorter. As the distance between the warp reference point and the outer circumference of the substrate becomes shorter, the displacement amount and the force of the warp caused at the outer circumference of the substrate become smaller. Moreover, when the thermoelectric elements are arranged with a high density, the force of each of the thermoelectric elements pulled by the substrate warp becomes smaller. Thus, by reducing the displacement amount and the force of the warp generated at the outer circumference of the substrate, it is possible to prevent a damage of the thermoelectric elements caused by the substrate warp.

    • An apparatus of the present invention is a magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus for pulling out a magnetic tape from a tape cassette and winding the magnetic tape around a rotary head cylinder, having a rotary head, for a predetermined arc, for recording/reproducing the magnetic tape. The magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus includes: a base member on which the tape cassette and the rotary head cylinder are mounted. A first state is defined as a state where the tape cassette has been mounted on the base member by a user. A second state is defined as a state where, after the mounting of the tape cassette, a tape guide member has pulled out the magnetic tape from the tape cassette and wound the magnetic tape around the rotary head cylinder, for the predetermined arc, thereby forming a tape drive system to allow the magnetic tape to be recorded/reproduced. A loading operation is defined as a transition operation from the first state to the second state. The magnetic recording/reproduction apparatus further comprises a reel base which is axially supported on the base member in a rotatable manner and engages with a reel for winding and holding the magnetic tape within the tape cassette, and a reel driver for driving rotation of the reel base. In the loading operation, the reel base is rotated by using the reel driver in a direction which takes up the magnetic tape.
