    • PURPOSE:To make mixing of a surface-active agent in water free from causing exudation of the water by using a composite moisture-permeable membrane composed of a hydrophilic high-molecular film which is permeable to water vapor as a moisture- permeable membrane without pares and a piece of knitted fabric having air permeability, the two ccmponents being laid one over the other. CONSTITUTION:Use is made of a composite moisture-permeable membrane which consists of a cellulose acetate film as a moisture-permeable membrane without pores 1 and a piece of nitted fabric of nylon fiber, the two adhering to each other at shots. This composite material is doubled with the fabric on the outer side and the cellulose acetate film on the inner side and the two parts resulting from the doubling are stuck to each other at the edges by an adhesive with simultaneous introduction therein of a spacer 2 of polyvinyl chloride and a play hollow, porous member 3 which is permeable to air inside a liquid but impermeable to water. A humidifier of moisture- permeable membrane the obtained in this manner is set in an air conditioner and, when water is fed through a water-feeling hole, the water is fed while the air therein is discharged through the pipy hollow porous member 3. Even if a surface-active agent is added by about percent to the water fed, it is not at all possible for the water to exudate.

    • PURPOSE:To economically eliminate a harmful matter contained in water by constituting the water heater so that various heating continuation time including the heating continuation time of at least five minutes or longer can be selected still after water in the inside of the water heater is boiled. CONSTITUTION:By putting water into a vessel 1, and executing electric conduction to a heating means 2 on the bottom face of the vessel 1 by an instruction of a control means 6, a water temperature is allowed to rise. When a boiling detecting means 4 detects boiling from an output of a temperature detecting means 3 on the bottom face of the vessel 1, a boiling signal is inputted to the control means 6. Various continuation time including continuous heating of at least five minutes or longer is set in advance to a boiling mode selecting means 5 in a cover of a pot. In accordance with a water temperature and the quantity of water at the time of starting heating, a boiling mode is elected. The control means 6 executes electric conduction to the heating means 2 and executes continuout heating by a command of the boiling mode selecting means 5. In such a way, a harmful matter contained in water is eliminated surely and economically.

    • PURPOSE:To measure a bad smell in a gas, e.g. in the air, by a method wherein a bad-smell sensor is constituted of a field-effect transistor whose semiconductor is a conductive polymer whose potential is changed by adsorbing a bad-smell substance. CONSTITUTION:A bad-smell sensor is constituted of the following: a gate electrode 1 used also as a substrate; an ohmic electrode 2; an insulating film 3; a conductive polymer film 4 as a semiconductor; a source electrode 5; and a drain electrode 6. For example, polythiophene, polypyrrole, polyacetylene or the like can be used for the conductive polymer film. When a bad-smell substance is adsorbed to the sensor, a potential is generated on the conductive polymer film 4, and the potential is measured by means of a field-effect transistor. When at least one kind out of cyclodextrin and metal polyolefin is added to the conductive polymer film 4, the cyclodextrin or the metal polyolefin is bonded strongly to the bad-smell substance, and the sensor becomes sensitive to even a low bad-smell concentration.
