    • A thermal type air flow measuring instrument is mounted to a main passage forming an intake air passage of an internal combustion engine and is provided. with an auxiliary passage which includes a heating resistor and a temperature sensing resistor therein and an electronic circuit which is electrically connected to the heating resistor and the temperature sensing resistor. The auxiliary passage is a passage including at least one bent portion composed of a first path substantially parallel to the main passage and a second path having a path different in flow direction from the first path. A member forming the auxiliary passage is fixed in a united form to only a case member for interiorly protecting the electronic circuit, and the case member is fixed to the outer wall surface of the intake air passage. The auxiliary passage structure capable of being handled as a single module united to the case member is effective to the mass production of an air flow control system and the reduction in cost thereof since the structure can be mounted to different kinds of internal combustion engines.

    • A digital signal processor circuit is provided which is operable to perform n-bit serial-to-parallel conversion with respect to data of one-bit serial form as read out of a recording medium thereby enabling correct detection of a synchronization pattern contained for transmission in such n-bit data and also correct data demodulation while at the same time achieving semiconductor integration with less power dissipation. To this end, the digital signal processor circuit includes n shift registers for use in performing data-shifting with respect to n-bit data being transferred, n decoder circuits decoding a sync pattern, a determination circuit determining detection of such sync pattern based on the result of detection from the n decoder circuits, a selector circuit selecting a combination of bit streams to be subject to data demodulation, a latch timing generator generating a latch timing of demodulated data, and a data demodulator circuit, wherein the selector circuit is designed to select demodulated data bits in accordance with the decode state of the n decoders, whist the timing generator circuit is operable to update the latch timing every time the sync pattern detection is performed by the determination circuit.

    • A data transfer device that confirms completion of writing into a memory on transferring data to the memory via a bus through which a response indicating completion of data writing in the memory is not sent back includes an inter-memory data transfer control unit performing data transfer between the memories. When the inter-memory data transfer control unit detects switching of a write destination memory from a first memory to a second memory, in order to confirm that writing into the first memory is completed, the inter-memory data transfer control unit performs confirmation of write completion as to the first memory by a procedure different from writing into the memory. The inter-memory data transfer control unit notifies the processor of completion of an inter-memory data transfer based on the confirmation of write completion.
