摘要： Thermal printing systems, thermal printers and methods for printing are provided. A print order is received at a printer driving device. The printer driving device forms a set of page data streams. Each page data stream comprises image data representing one image from the print order in a format that can be used by a printer. The printer prints images by transferring donor material for patches of donor material from a donor ribbon onto a receiver medium. The printer is operable to print images in a manner that exhausts a full donor patch set or fractional donor patch set. Printing is performed using donor material from a fractional donor patch set when it is determined at the printer that an image from a page data stream can be printed using a fractional donor patch set and when it is determined that a fractional donor patch set is available for printing.

摘要： There is disclosed a system and method of formulating a batch comprising at least two ingredients. The ingredients are admitted to a container to partially fill it. The quantities of the ingredient in the container are determined, and a ratio of a target quantity to the determined current quantity for at least one ingredient is calculated. The next quantity of that ingredient to be admitted to the admixture is calculated by multiplying the target quantity by the calculated ratio to determine a corrected quantity. The corrected quantity of the ingredient is admitted to the admixture, and a quantity of another ingredient is admitted to the admixture to adjust the proportion of ingredients to the target formulation. These steps may be repeated until the batch is completed.

The motor is preferably computer controlled such that the rotation of the wheel and thus movement of the cable is selectively controlled. As the wheel is rotated, paint contained within the paint reservoir coats the cable and is thus drawn by the cable in front of an air stream. The air stream pulls the paint from the cable and carries it toward the print medium. By employing a plurality of such paint injectors into a single print head, each containing a different color of paint, and secured to a computer controlled, movable carriage positioned over the print medium, a digital image can be painted by the print head on the print medium.
